The origin of World Meteorological Day

1950 On March 23rd, as the successor of IMO established in 1873, WMO was formally established. 1In June, 960, the World Meteorological Organization decided to designate March 23rd every year as World Meteorological Day. On this day, member countries are required to hold celebrations in various ways, so that the public can better understand the outstanding contributions made by national meteorological departments to economic construction and the activities of the World Meteorological Organization.
