Introduction to The Giver

In a seemingly perfect society, people's lives are arranged in an orderly manner. They do not need to decide their jobs or spouses. These society have already made decisions for people. There is no memory, emotion, color or music in this world. They only have the most basic needs of life.

But there is one exception, that is, the young Jonas. He was selected to receive training from an old man called the "Giver", and he was responsible for the memory that the entire society should have.

He had to bear the pain, fear and loneliness alone, and at the same time he also learned what warmth, happiness and love are, and gained an experience he had never had before. And the more he knew, the more he realized how false this world was, and he had the idea of ??leaving.

Behind the scenes production

At the end of June 2011, the film of the same name adapted from the well-known utopian novel "The Giver" was confirmed to hit the screen. Vadim Perlman, who wrote and directed "House of Dust", is the screenwriter and David Yates is the director.

The film's project development process was long and tortuous. Jeff Bridges and producer Nikki Silver spent nearly ten years lobbying for "The Giver" to be brought to the screen.

It was not until 2007, when the adaptation rights were transferred to Warner Bros., that things turned around. After several years of selection, the director was finally selected. At the end of September 2013, music diva Taylor Swift confirmed to join the film.
