Brief introduction of Gansu Meteorological Bureau

Gansu Meteorological Bureau is one of the seven regional meteorological centers in China and the location of Lanzhou Regional Meteorological Center. This is a service for collecting, processing and publishing meteorological information in northwest China.

The service center is responsible for guiding and coordinating the meteorological services in Shaanxi, Gansu, Ningxia, Qinghai and Xinjiang, and organizing and coordinating the strategic research and scientific research cooperation on the development of meteorological services in northwest China. The meteorological cause in Gansu Province has developed by leaps and bounds, and the modern meteorological service system has been initially established. This time, in order to realize the interconnection and sharing of meteorological information in the whole province, Gansu Meteorological decided to build a provincial backbone network from the provincial bureau to the 12 municipal bureau and 70 district and county stations.

user demand analysis

Gansu Meteorological Bureau has 12 meteorological bureaus at prefecture, state and municipal levels, and 70 meteorological stations (including prefecture, state, municipal bureau and local meteorological stations). The original networks of provinces, prefectures and counties are mainly organized by X.25 and PSTN, with the bandwidth of 64Kbps in the provincial center and 9.6Kbps in the prefectures and counties. The networks are mainly used to transmit meteorological real-time information and office information (intranet, notes, etc.). ); A satellite wide area network has been established between provinces and cities through satellites to realize the transmission of data and voice. At the same time, the National Bureau has established a satellite broadcasting network, and all stations in the country have satellite digital broadcasting.

The original ground network of Gansu Meteorological Bureau information system was built earlier, with low equipment performance, low line speed and long time delay, which has been difficult to meet the requirements of automatic station, sandstorm, radar and other data transmission, and it is difficult to meet the needs of comprehensive transmission of data, voice and video. Satellite network has a small coverage and low speed, so small stations can't communicate directly, which limits the network function. Therefore, it is urgent to build a more perfect, faster and safer meteorological WAN platform in Gansu. The WAN of Gansu Meteorological Bureau should not only fully meet the demand in speed and capacity; Moreover, the original loose network needs to be integrated and unified in terms of specifications, management software and security protection. In addition, the Gansu Provincial Wide Area Network of Gansu Meteorological Bureau needs to be scalable and can be easily upgraded in the future.

Gansu Meteorological Bureau has modern equipment such as meteorological satellite remote sensing, new generation Doppler weather radar, hundreds of billions of high-performance computer systems, new meteorological information networks, sandstorm websites and agricultural websites. It is a modern and high-tech meteorological information service department. The main business services and scientific research work include weather forecasting, climate forecasting and monitoring, agrometeorology, drought monitoring and research, weather modification, development and utilization of climate resources, satellite remote sensing ecological monitoring, atmospheric environmental assessment, sandstorm monitoring, geological disaster forecasting and lightning disaster prevention. Provide important decision-making meteorological services for the provincial party Committee, the provincial government and relevant departments; Provide multi-level and all-round public meteorological services for the public; Provide a series of professional meteorological services for key projects, enterprises and institutions to avoid disadvantages and organize production. Meteorological services have covered agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, transportation, energy, water conservancy, environmental protection, insurance and commerce. Meteorological work in Gansu has made important contributions to the economic construction and social development of the whole province.

Gansu Meteorological Bureau has internal organs: office, business department, science and technology development department, planning and finance department, personnel and education department, policies and regulations department, supervision and audit department (co-located with the discipline inspection team of the party group), directly under the authority Party Committee office (spiritual civilization construction office) and retired cadres office.
