Living habits of polar bears?
Sometimes the prey that polar bears catch hard will attract the same kind of peeping. Generally speaking, smaller polar bears are more inclined to run away if they are unlucky enough to face those big guys. However, the mother bear who is nursing her cubs sometimes fights with the offending male bear to protect her cubs or defend her hard-won rations. At the same time, polar bears are the only bears that actively attack humans, and most of the attacks take place at night.
Polar bears are real carnivores in Xiong Ke animal family, and 98.5% of their food is meat. They mainly prey on seals, especially ringed seals, bearded seals, saddle seals and crested seals. In addition, they also catch walruses, beluga whales, seabirds, fish, small mammals and sometimes clean carrion. In summer, they occasionally eat berries or plant roots. In late spring and summer, they will come to the seaside to pick seaweed and supplement the minerals and vitamins they need.
Unlike other animals in Xiong Ke, they don't hide their unfinished food and eat it later. They even walk away after eating fat. You know, for them, high-calorie fat is more important than meat, because they need to maintain a fat layer to keep warm and store energy for food shortage.
Polar bears generally have two hunting modes, and the most commonly used method is "waiting for the rabbit". They will find the seal's breathing hole on the ice in advance and wait patiently for several hours. As soon as seals appear, they will launch a sudden attack and drag them up from the breathing hole with sharp claws.
If the seals are on the shore, they will also hide out of sight of the seals and then climb over to attack. The other mode is to dive directly under the ice until the seals near the shore attack, which has the advantage of directly cutting off the retreat of the seals. After eating and drinking enough, polar bears will carefully wash their hair and remove all food residues and blood.
In order not to starve themselves, polar bears often lie next to the vent holes of seals on the ice, or sneak attack when seals climb to the ice to rest. The habit of polar bears being left-handed is formed in the process of predation. It has a white fur, surrounded by white snow and ice, which is convenient for it to hide, but its nose is not white and easy to be found by prey, so when it looks underwater from the ice, it will "skillfully" cover its black nose with its right hand and free its left hand to hunt.
Generally speaking, polar bears are very active in March and May every year. They will wander around the ice floes for food and live an amphibious life. In the severe winter, the outdoor activities of polar bears are greatly reduced, and they can hardly eat for a long time. At this time, they look for shelter and sleep on the ground. The respiratory rate decreases and enters local hibernation.
The so-called local hibernation, on the one hand, means that they don't hibernate like snakes and other animals, but like to sleep or not, and they can wake up immediately in case of emergency to cope with changes. In addition, polar bears just don't eat or drink for a long time, not all winter.
Scientists have also suggested that polar bears may also have partial summer sleep, that is, during the period when the ice floes are the least in summer, polar bears may find it difficult to eat or may be in a state of partial summer sleep. One of the reasons is that Canadian polar bear experts once caught several polar bears with long hair on their paws in Hudson Bay in autumn. Experts speculate that they have little foraging activity in summer, otherwise their claws will not be covered with long hair.
The polar bear (Ursus maritimus) is the largest land carnivore in the world, also known as the white bear. The skin is black, because the hair is transparent, so the appearance is usually white, but also yellow and other colors. It is huge and fierce.
Polar bears have the same vision and hearing as humans, but their sense of smell is extremely sensitive, seven times that of dogs; The fastest running speed can reach 60km/h, which is 1.5 times that of the world 100-meter champion. With the global temperature rising, the Arctic ice floes gradually began to melt, and the polar bear's former home was damaged to some extent, and it is likely to become extinct in the near future, which needs human protection.
