What are the causes of dog heatstroke in summer?

Alaskan Malamute (details)

As we all know, the sweat glands of dogs are mainly concentrated on the meat pad and tongue, so dogs will open their mouths and stick out their tongues when radiating heat. In hot summer, many sled dogs who are afraid of heat are prone to heatstroke. So what caused the dog to get heatstroke?

1, the dog's skin is different from ours. When people are hot, they will sweat from sweat glands all over the body to help dissipate heat. However, the sweat glands of dog skin are not developed. They only have sweat glands in a few parts such as paw pads, so they can secrete very few sweat glands and can't fully regulate their body temperature. Although dogs will be tongue-tied, panting and spitting to take away more calories in the hot season, they can't sweat normally after all, they won't stop their activities because of the hot weather, and they won't take care of their bodies to replenish water at any time. Therefore, the probability of dog heatstroke is many times higher than ours!

2. The dog's temperature should be 37.8~39℃. If the body temperature rises to 40.65℃, the dog's internal organs will begin to be damaged. When the body temperature reaches 4 1℃, it is highly dangerous for dogs. In hot environment or hot and muggy climate, the dog's body system may fail in the shortest 20 minutes, leading to death. So in summer or other hot weather conditions, heatstroke is the biggest threat to the health of dogs!
