Development history
According to the research of geologists, about 300 million years ago, this place was the sea of Wang Yang. After more than 50 million years of crustal movement, it gradually rose from the ocean to the land. In the process of rising, many gaps are formed in limestone strata. For thousands of years, surface water has been eroded and dissolved with carbon dioxide and vegetable acid infiltrating into these cracks, which has expanded and deformed the cracks and formed many caves. At the same time, because of the dense forest and abundant water storage, the water droplets containing plant acids can continuously dissolve the limestone in the cave, so the stalactites in this cave group are particularly rich and perfect, and their distribution is also particularly dense. Therefore, experts and scholars call it "a typical karst landform area in coastal provinces of China".
Swan Cave Group Scenic Spot was listed as the second batch of provincial-level scenic spots by Fujian Provincial People's Government on 199 1, and was approved as the main park of National Geopark by Ministry of Land and Resources 1 in 2004. 1991-In 2004, * * * received 560,000 domestic and foreign tourists, and the tourist ticket income was1344,000 yuan. Since 1995, the annual growth rate of tourists in scenic spots and tourist ticket income has been 20% and 22% respectively. Especially since the ancestor worship ceremony of Shek Pik Hakka ancestral home was launched, more and more tourists from home and abroad have come here and become very attractive tourist attractions.
Historical legends
The scenic spot is located in Hucun Town, 28 kilometers east of Ninghua County. According to legend, in ancient times, seven fairies descended from the sky by a swan and came here to bathe and play in Jiaohu Lake. A young farmer put away their colorful clothes, and the fairies hid in shame at the bottom of the lake. Now it's time to go back to heaven, but the swans waiting on the shore didn't see fairies everywhere. In a hurry, they lay on the ground. When the fairies came out from the bottom of the lake, they saw that the swan had turned into a stone mountain, and a hole in the stone mountain floated with fairy dust. They filed into the cave and found that this abode of fairies and immortals was better than heaven, though it was not heaven, so they stayed in the cave to cultivate their self-cultivation. From a bird's eye view, Swan Mountain looks like a swan spreading its wings, and the seven caves in Swan Cave are said to be one for each fairy. Legend is beautiful, but the realistic cave landscape is more beautiful and spectacular.

The distribution area of caves is about 16 square kilometers, and the landscape in caves is colorful and unpredictable. According to experts such as researcher Wang Xunyi, the head of the cave group in China Institute of Karst Geology, the number, density and scale of its caves are the highest in Bamin Cave Group, and it is a rare cave group world in southeast China. Among caves, the underground river stone forest with caves is unique in China. It has been proved as a "unique underwater stone forest and fascinating geological wonders" by geological experts from China Academy of Sciences and China Academy of Engineering.
