Jiuhua Mountain is one of the three mountain systems in southern Anhui, and its main body is a strong fault uplift belt composed of granite rock mass. Except sedimentary rocks, most of the marginal areas are slight uplift zones of folded fault blocks composed of granodiorite. Jiuhua Mountain is located in the north subtropical zone, which is influenced by humid monsoon and restricted by mountain elevation and topography, so it has the characteristics of mild, humid and cool mountain climate.

Jiuhua Mountain is bordered by the Yangtze River in the north, Huangshan Mountain in the south, Taiping Lake in the east and Chiyang in the west, stretching for more than 100 kilometers, with 99 peaks, the highest of which is Wang Feng, with an altitude of 1.342 meters. The total area of Jiuhua Mountain is about 1.20 square kilometers, and it is generally north-south, between north latitude 165, 438+07 43 ′-165, 438+08 80 ′ and 30 24 ′-30 40 ′.

Jiuhua Mountain, from the foothills to Tiantai Mountain, is full of famous temples and numerous cultural relics. There are 78 ancient temples such as Huacheng Temple, Shenyue Temple, Huiju Temple and Baisui Palace, with more than 500 statues of Buddha/kloc-0 and more than 300 pieces of cultural relics/kloc-0, including imperial edicts, Tibetan scriptures, other jade seals and utensils issued by the Wanli Emperor of the Ming Dynasty.

In 2006, Jiuhuashan Scenic Area with Jiuhuashan as the main body was rated as a national key scenic spot. In 2007, Jiuhuashan Scenic Area was rated as a national AAAAA-level tourist attraction. In 2009, Jiuhuashan was awarded the National Geopark.
