Children Jianghu Lao (middle school)

Four: Survival of the fittest

The difference between humans and animals is that there are special schools to impart knowledge. The ability of animals to pass on from generation to generation depends on their parents' words and deeds.

After Liu Zeming's parents died, no one taught him. At this time, his friends and neighbors are his teachers. So society is a university. Who you like and who you play with determine the direction of your future growth. When my mother was alive, she often said: Follow good people, learn people well, and dance with Duan Gong.

Liu Zeming is very talented. When he sees others doing things, he will observe and think. When he sees a carpenter making furniture, he will stand by and watch for a long time. He is short, like a doll, and others will not guard against him.

When someone goes to the repair shop of a hardware company to repair the radio, he will stand behind the repairman and concentrate on thinking, such as watching a wonderful movie. Don't move for a long time

He wrote about the house where Yang Zongkuo lived. Leshan people describe renting a house as writing about a house, hotel accommodation and a house, because in the past, it was generally necessary to write a contract and find a guarantor to guarantee the house. Yang Zongkuo was born in a noble family. He likes violin since he was a child, and his skills are among the best in Leshan. The primary school was recommended by the Children's Palace to compete in Chengdu, which was affirmed by the professor of Sichuan Conservatory of Music.

Yang Zongkuo practices the piano very hard. Every morning, he stands at the gate. A few steps away from the gate is the rushing Dadu River, which is the largest and tallest Leshan Giant Buddha in the world. Learning the piano in such a picturesque environment naturally injects the aura of the river of heaven and earth.

It's about the Yang family's remaining room, so I bought an erhu, and while digging (chiseling is pronounced in Leshan dialect, describing myself as having no formal job and working everywhere), I tried to find money to survive and practice the piano with Yang Zongkuo. Eating is also an eastern meal and a western meal. When you are alone, you never move the cooker.

Many years later, a friend named Xiang Lejun, who loves photography, told me that he had heard Liu Zeming's erhu solo "Two Springs Reflecting the Moon", as if complaining. I know nothing about music, music prodigy.

Time flies between words. Culture, greatness, revolution and fate have begun. In the town of Minjiang River in the south of Sichuan, waves of students' Long March teams came from Chengdu and Beijing. They propagandized all the way and rebelled, which soon spread all over the country.

Middle school students and high school students in Leshan follow suit. Students are everywhere from the city to the countryside. Singing red songs and dancing loyalty and righteousness are not a pleasure. Urgent, every family, every unit and school, just like the ancient people hung symbols on their doors, must hang the standard image of Chairman Mao. At that time, it was estimated that all color printing plants were working at full capacity, printing color images.

Paper printed color images can only be posted at home. In order to express loyalty to the unit, color images must be hung in the center of the gate and auditorium podium, and the size range must be large, rain-proof, sun-proof and colorfast. The picture is too small to set off the greatness of a great man.

At that time, anyone who could draw portraits, no matter what problems you had in the past, was required to work overtime to draw colorful portraits of Chairman Mao. Outside the north gate of Leshan Gaobei, there is a street collective enterprise composed of six or seven painters. There is no sign on the door, it seems to be called art club.

Before, the main business of the art club was to make picture frames, picture frames and help people draw portraits. In the past, people rarely took pictures, and photography was still a luxury. Many old people from the late Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China had few photos left before their death. When a family member is seriously ill or has just died, he will find an artist to come home, take a look at the old man, draw the characteristics of the old man with charcoal pen, go back to the art club and process it into a picture, and sell it to his family in a wooden frame as a souvenir. If the family members have photos, they will provide a photo they like to the painter, who will enlarge the picture and draw it with charcoal.

Art club is not a state-owned enterprise. At that time, the state-owned enterprises in the county were managed by catering service companies, including Continental Hotel, Fanghua Photo Studio and Heming Restaurant.

The salary income of the staff of the art club depends on the efforts of a few people, and the surplus is not allowed to be divided. At that time, it was strictly forbidden for private people to sell anything publicly. Even those who sell peanuts sell them quietly like thieves.

The studio of the art club is very cramped, just across the street. The facade room is about 10 to 20 square meters, which is long. There are no signs on the door and wall, but some charcoal portraits of the old man are hung on the wall at will. The ground is full of wood and wood residues used to make photo frames. Outsiders pass by and see what's inside to know what it is. Unlike today, no matter the size of the store, there is always a name.

There are several full-time painters in the art club, all of whom are from the Republic of China. They are painting experts with artistic cells. Painters include Tong Yuyuan, Mao Mingxiang, Zhong Baijin and Liu Huaju.

In particular, there are two artists named Mao Mingxiang in Leshan. One is the older one in the street art club. His traditional painting skills are solid, and Liu Ti's calligraphy has been praised so far. He passed away a few years ago.

Another younger Mao Mingxiang was recommended to sichuan fine arts institute in the late Cultural Revolution and returned to work in the Municipal Cultural Center. After retirement, I still insist on writing, bringing many apprentices who draw and write, and keep forging ahead.

Mao Mingxiang, who is still active in the art world, is particularly worth mentioning. A few years ago, he created a huge "Leshan Giant Buddha", which reproduces the scene of chiseling Leshan Giant Buddha in the Kaiyuan period of the Tang Dynasty with pen and ink, with novel angles and many figures. It is a historical picture that can be passed down!

During the Cultural Revolution, Leshan Fine Arts Club ushered in the busiest and most brilliant moment since its establishment, because all institutions and schools had to hang a big icon of Chairman Mao. Use the current advertising language to describe it: business is booming. All the staff kept drawing the glorious image of Chairman Mao on the canvas from morning till night. This is far from meeting the market demand.

The daughter of the painter Tong Yuyuan became my WeChat friend many years later. Speaking of that time. She said that her father worked in the street building during the day and could not finish painting, but continued painting at home at night. Sometimes when she wakes up, her father is still drawing.

The art club is too small to fit that big picture frame. On sunny days, painters put their picture frames outside the door and stand on high stools to draw. Many units have no artists, so they buy paintings of art clubs at high prices. No matter how much they pay, no one sometimes works indirectly.

The hanging time is relatively tight, which involves the political position at that time. As a result, the leaders of many units are looking for people who can draw the portrait of the chairman everywhere, and they are hungry for food and thirsty for talents.

Liu Zeming likes painting, which only a few friends know. Leshan said that a friend fell asleep and happened to know the director of Leshan County Guest House. The director's surname is Du. He is chubby and his head is as big as a big arhat's belly. At first glance, it looks like the translation in the movie Little Soldier Zhang Ai. At this time, he was anxiously looking for someone to paint Chairman Mao.

County Guest House is located in the middle of Yutang Street, the most prosperous street in Leshan. The gable is not big, and there is an attic above it. The attic faces the street, revealing a clearing. At that time, the first thing to see if a unit was loyal was whether you hung a colorful portrait of Chairman Mao in the most conspicuous place. This is not only the political image of a unit, but also the attitude of the main person in charge of a unit.

Five: No wind blows my lonely sail.

I'm very hungry.

Du Yi, director of the county hostel, heard that someone wanted to paint a portrait, so he quickly placed an order and drew a portrait of the chairman, two meters long and one meter five wide. At the same time, another buyer was introduced, who wanted one in the auditorium of the administrative office.

What a Liu Zeming! Before that, I just liked to stand outside the Gaobei Gate and cross the street, watching the artists of the art club make frames and color them. I just taught myself to paint, painted some landscapes and quietly painted portraits for others.

It's not panic to accept such a big business. After all, after years of hard work in the Jianghu, children without parents have their own opinions. Liu Zeming first went to the Little Cross Department Store in Yutang Street and spent more than 20 yuan to buy two best sheets made in Shanghai. I went to our wood factory in Sitang to make two big picture frames and stretched the sheets directly.

Borrowing a scooter, a person pulls the picture frame back to where the frog lives. Lean the picture frame against the wooden wall and use the aisle of the gate. Someone went in and out of Liu Zeming, and soon stopped writing and got up to let people go. No one passed by. Go on working.

He bought a few catties of lithopone, mixed it and put it carefully on the sheets. After drying, it becomes the base cloth of oil painting.

Draw a standard grid horizontally and vertically on the canvas according to the method stolen from the art club. The sample paintings bought from Xinhua Bookstore also draw the same grid. In strict accordance with the position of the portrait in the small grid, it is transferred to the grid of the big frame, which is meticulous. Color matching, layer by layer superposition of oil paints.

A few days later, a lifelike portrait of the chairman was born in copper river Ping. After seeing it, the violinist Yang Zongkuo's mother praised it again and again, saying that the painting was too similar.

Director Du, who had been waiting for a long time, quickly called several cooks and carefully hung them at the entrance of Yutang Street Guest House with a tricycle.

Director Du contentedly gave Liu Zeming three hundred yuan for this single business. This was a huge sum of money at that time, and many people earned only thirty or forty yuan a month. At that time, there was no place for private invoicing. How can Director Du keep accounts? According to the script, the portrait of the administrative office auditorium also won applause, and Liu Zeming also won the 300 yuan.

As soon as the two behemoths hung up, Liu Zeming's name became famous for playing the trumpet through the crack of the door. It just so happens that Leshan Art Club is understaffed and has too much portrait business.

After reporting to the person in charge of the street, the art club directly recruited Liu Zeming into the art club. As a result, Liu Zeming, who had worked hard in the society for several years, resigned and left the pig farm to have a new unit. There is a fixed salary every month, which in that absurd era, with a relatively fixed rice bowl, you can maintain a basic life.

Six: There are heroes in the Jianghu.

There is a popular saying in the collectors that treasures are hidden in prosperous times and gold is hidden in troubled times. However, as the most scarce and precious talents in the world, once they encounter absurd years, their fate is like a boat in the stormy waves, which may be subverted at any time.

The article written here reminds me of two other people, because of the fate of Liu Zeming and the lives of many artists in the art society. Their names used to shine for a while.

One is Jin Mushi, a native of northern Sichuan. When he was young, he was a primary school principal in his hometown. In the 1940s, he came to Leshan and Emei Mountain. It is said that he lives by writing and selling calligraphy and painting. 1944, General Bai Chongxi visited Emei Mountain, accompanied by Jin Mushi, and recited poems and drank and had fun along the way.

Jin Mushi left several calligraphy works as cultural relics in Leshan Archives. 1950, the county magistrate who helped his hometown was sentenced to prison and died. Leshan has not much information to check except leaving a daughter. On the contrary, the writer Gong found a handwritten old poem in a stall selling used books in Leshan one year. The author is Jin Mushi. Gong wrote in a book about Mount Emei: "I have read a collection of poems" A Red Palm "which was circulated among the people during the Republic of China. It's handwritten with a brush, and the cover says "Give it to a friend for treatment". It should be an orphan. The author of this collection of poems is Jin Mushi, whose life can't be tested, but it has a lot to do with Leshan area. One of them is "Fifty Years' Gift from Guo Ling, the Abbot of Buhe in Emei National Security Temple":

A broken bowl is useless, and laurel leaves are well known.

People on earth set themselves up first, and there are monks everywhere in famous mountains.

Killing life is like Zen, and martial arts is like Buddha.

Send a message to the new swallow in Cuilou, and his fate will increase. "

Unfortunately, Gong copied some poems after reading them and gave them back to the seller, leaving a regret. The author is here to advertise Jin Mushi's daughter in soft language. If anyone knows the story of Jin Mushi, or happens to have a work of Jin Mushi, Mr. Jin's family is willing to buy it back at a large sum of money. )

Another man named Wu Chengzhi (1883-1962) is Guo Zhen, an old farmer in Mangxi, Lezhi County, Sichuan Province. 19 14 or so, came to Wu Tong and Leshan and settled in Zhugen Beach of Wutongqiao. Good at Chinese painting, clay figurine and other skills. Very sought after by rich people and dignitaries. He is often invited to his company or home to paint artists or statues for him.

Mr. Wu Chengzhi was a famous painter in southern Sichuan in 1930s.

Wu Chengzhi, a painter, is modest, honest and friendly. Merchants who like calligraphy and painting should please stay at home for a while if they have nothing to do.

Niu Huaxi's salt stove, Zheng Taihe and Dafeng, often invites him to play. Of course, tea and singing are indispensable, and calligraphy and painting are all enjoyment. Later, the great painter Li Qiongjiu said that his progress in painting benefited from his study with Wu Chengzhi when he was in Niuhua.

One year, I invited some old gentlemen to have tea by the river. Guo Zhiquan, a painter in Leshan, said that Wu Chengzhi had an unparalleled feat. He could stare at the clay sculptures of his predecessors in his sleeves and talk to others at the same time. After the speech, Wu Chengzhi took the statue out of his sleeve, which was wonderful.

Several famous painters in Leshan, such as Li Qiongjiu, Li Daoxi and Zhang Zhicheng. They all said in various occasions and recalled articles that they had been taught by Mr. Wu Chengzhi.

I have read a book edited by Mr. Yi Zhilong, which is about the past life of Wutongqiao, and there are articles about Wu Chengzhi's painter. After reading it, it can be said that Wutongqiao became the hometown of famous painters in China, which is inseparable from the influence of Mr. Wu Chengzhi.

Unfortunately, Mr. Wu Chengzhi of No Country for Old Men was later displaced and killed by poverty and hunger.

A real artist, why is the fate in this land always difficult?
