Wutai Mountain to Datong Self-driving Travel Guide and Recommended Interesting Attractions
When traveling to Shanxi, the first stop is Wutai Mountain. For the rest of the itinerary, the editor will recommend going to Datong. Datong is a place that is very rare for the editor. The previous Datong City The general managed Datong very well, and the protection of the ancient towns here is also excellent! Next, follow the editor to find out more. 1. Travel guide
DAY1
Depart from Beijing at 12 o'clock, Cangyu + Beijing-Kunming Expressway, all the way to Wutai. The scenery on the road is very beautiful and there are not many cameras. But if the weather is nice, you can drive slowly and let the elderly watch and take photos. Enter the parking lot, turn right into the scenic area, and then turn left. It is very easy to drive inside. The parking lots in Wutai are free. From the bottom of the mountain up, Zhenhai Temple and Puhua Temple (maybe the same place behind Puji Temple) are recommended. Ask), there is a large parking lot at the entrance of Dawenju Temple. Going up from the Great Manjusri Temple, there is also one in Shuxiang Temple. Because it is said that Shuxiang Temple is the true face of Manjushri Bodhisattva, I highly recommend it. If you drive up the road and pass the parking lot of the Great Manjusri Temple, there are many accommodation places and commercial streets. Recommend staying near here. Eating breakfast on this street is a buffet for only 10 yuan, and you will be full. More importantly, it is convenient to worship the Wuye Temple (Guangji Dragon King Bodhisattva). I stayed at "Yiwei Thatched Cottage" and I highly recommend it. It's very clean, warm and dry. The owner is nice. You can add WeChat in advance to get a small discount on the price.
It is not recommended to worship Buddha in the afternoon, so it is recommended to start from Beijing around noon and arrive in Wutai in the evening. After staying, you can see the mountain scenery and have dinner.
DAY2
Get up at 6:00 the next day. Due to the epidemic, the temple now only opens at 6:30. I gave an old man a route: Wuye Temple (the most popular one) - Tayuan (Big White Pagoda) - Xiantong Temple (the earliest temple, the largest Zen temple, Wuliang Hall is very unique) - Guangzong Temple (can offer lamps ) - Bodhisattva Peak (the palace + the Yellow Sect's big temple, the so-called small court platform when you climb up), turn down to Shanluo Temple (see the flowers blooming and see the Buddha). Going further down, you can see Shuxiang Temple and the Great Wenshu Temple. These are enough for the elderly. If you are very religious, it is recommended that you worship the Fifth Master on an empty stomach and then go to the commercial street to have breakfast before leaving.
About vegetarian food, it is famous as "a bright light". If you like it, you can try it. There is vegetarian food at Puhua Temple at the foot of the mountain, but it is actually run by laymen. There is a buffet for 38 people, and the meal starts at 11 o'clock. Choose for yourself.
We walked around for a long time, and at about 12 o'clock, we took the north gate exit of Mount Wutai, went all the way down the mountain, and took National Highway 205+336 to Yingxian County. The national highway is quite easy to walk. Wutai goes all the way down the mountain and has continuous turns, but just be steady and it is not a problem for experienced drivers; if you are brave enough, you can stop and enjoy the scenery. There are many self-driving cars in Dongtai, which occupy the road and need to use the road. There is a road construction site on National Highway 205 and there is a fence. My car is an SUV. Once I pass by, the car may bump a few times. In addition, when passing through the village in 205, I encountered a herd of cattle. I think we will encounter this frequently, and the probability is relatively high. Be sure not to honk your horn when passing cattle, as this may frighten the cattle, as the consequences will be serious. After leaving 336, we arrived in Ying County. I stayed at the Junyi Hotel chain, and parking was available at the door. The parking space was a bit tight, so I could ask the store owner for help. But the hotel is recommended. Yingxian is the county seat, so dinner is only served at 6:00, so you can control this yourself.
DAY3
Yingxian Wooden Pagoda, how should I put it, just go and see it on the way, it only takes about 40 minutes. Then drive to Xuankong Temple, which is still National Highway 336. Please note that there are many large cars. It is best to drive with the speed limit of 70. If you overtake, you must be quick. The parking lot of Xuankong Temple is very large. You can drive down and park at the entrance, saving you a short walk. The Hanging Temple is the most shocking attraction to me. I admire the wisdom of the ancients so much. But be warned, it costs 100 yuan to buy a ticket to go to the temple. You can decide based on the old man's physical strength and buy the ticket after you go up. First, you have to queue up to see the Xuankong Temple. There were few people on the day we went, so it took about 30 minutes. If there were more people, it might take longer. Second, it is very steep. My mother is afraid of heights, so she was afraid of walking. The stairs are very narrow.
After leaving Xuankong Temple, I chose the expressway to Datong. The expressway fee was 25, because the national highway was really open. The highway is slightly faster. It seems that Sun You left, but it was easy to leave anyway. Datong is also relatively easy to get around (I like Datong very much and the people are very nice). After lunch, we visited Huayan Temple, a very unique Liao Dynasty temple. Admission is free with a refuge certificate, which is highly recommended. After leaving Huayan Temple, we walked around the antique street and had dinner, which was very nice.
Elderly people with physical strength can go directly to the ancient city wall. You can ride bicycles on the ancient city wall. The night view is more artistic than during the day. 2. Recommended attractions
Pan Central Area
Xiantong Temple, Wanfo Pavilion (Wuye Temple), Tayuan Temple, Shuxiang Temple, Bodhisattva Peak, Dailuoding, Nanshan Temple, Bishan Temple, Puhua Temple, etc. (These temples are temples with relatively complete historical evolution, whether in terms of historical scale, status, or Taoist practice. In short: they have a foundation and are relatively concentrated.)
< p>The central area is the birthplace of the legend of Mount Wutai. Each temple has its own characteristics. Because the buildings are concentrated, it can basically be visited in one day, which is very convenient. Moreover, this is also the place where prayers are most concentrated. After all, it has a long history, is prosperous in incense, and is even more "efficacious".At the same time, please be assured that there is only one way to the central area, and you will never go astray.
Five Platform Tops
There are many ways to go to the platform, such as walking, driving, or taking a bus.
Most tourists will choose to take a bus, and there are dedicated buses to Taiwan. Except for tourists on foot, regardless of whether they drive by themselves or take a special bus, the price is 300 yuan per person. Taking the express train to Taiwan is the most hurried way. It is difficult to truly appreciate the scenery of Wutai Mountain. It is no different from coming all the way on the expressway. It is just a mountain.
Whether you are visiting natural features or praying and worshiping Buddha, you basically need to stop in the central area. Because there is only one road in Wutai Mountain Scenic Area, which goes straight up and down. If you want to climb to the top of the platform, it is a different matter. The scenic spot will briefly introduce the location and situation, but I won’t spoil the content for you, leaving you with a beautiful artistic conception to explore on your own.
Taipei temples
Mainly refers to some temples located outside the scenic area, such as the famous Tang Dynasty pearl: Foguang Temple. The architecture is majestic and the ancient trees are lush. When you come to Foguang Temple, you feel like you have traveled through time and space and returned to the prosperous Tang Dynasty. It is fascinating, especially in spring, when the flowers bloom like a sea and it is so beautiful.
The current price for scenic spot tickets is (peak season): full ticket 145 yuan/person, half ticket 70 yuan/person. It will be cheaper in the off-season, and you have to wait for the announcement to determine the price for that year. 3. Ticket price
1. Full ticket 168 yuan/person, 20% discount price 134 yuan/person;
