Chengkou County is located at the junction of Sichuan, Shaanxi and Chongqing provinces, on the northeast edge of Chongqing, with east longitude 108 15' to 109 16' and north latitude 3 1 37' to 32 18. It is adjacent to Wuxi County, Kaixian County and Xuanhan County in Sichuan Province in the south; West of Wanyuan City, Sichuan Province. The county seat is 760 meters above sea level and covers an area of 3,232 square kilometers. The county has jurisdiction over 7 towns (Gecheng Town, Xiuqi Town, Gaoguan Town, ping ba zhen, miaoba town, Bashan Town and Tongming Town) and 17 townships (Gao Yan Township, Liaozi Township, Zuo Lan Township, Beiping Township, Shuanghe Township, Yanhe Township, Dong 'an Township, Houping Township, Zhiping Township, Lantian Township and Zhouxi Township).

In September, 2004, Chongqing Municipal People's Government (Yufu [2004] No.229) approved the adjustment plan of administrative divisions of Chengkou County, and agreed to adjust the original 8 towns and 24 townships to 7 towns 17 townships. Details are as follows:

Xiuqi Town: governs 19 villagers' committees and 1 community neighborhood committees, with an area of 170.39 square kilometers and a total population of 17600 people.

Gaoguan Town: governs 16 villagers' committees and 1 community neighborhood committees, with an area of 130 square kilometers and a total population of 8,700.

Miaoba town: governs 12 villagers' committees and 1 community neighborhood committees, with an area of 158.55438+0 square kilometers and a total population of 1.24 million.

Bashan Town: governs 14 villagers' committees and 1 community neighborhood committees, with an area of 125.4 square kilometers and a total population of 1.26 million.

Pingba Town: It has jurisdiction over 9 villagers' committees and 1 community neighborhood committee, with an area of 57 square kilometers and a total population of 1. 1.07 million.

Tongming Town: governs 10 villagers' committees and 1 0 community residents' committees, with an area of 82 square kilometers and a total population of 7,630.
