Going to Mohe alone, what did I gain?

?The reason why people love traveling is not to reach the destination, but to enjoy the fun during the journey.

?————? Goethe

I don’t know when I started to like traveling alone. In the winter of my senior year, I took advantage of the last winter vacation in college to go to Mohe. Having lived in the south since I was a child, I seem to have never seen scenes of ice and snow in my memory, so Mohe, which is minus 40 degrees Celsius, has an inexplicable attraction for me.

Mohe, belonging to the Daxinganling region of Heilongjiang Province, is located at the northern foot of the Daxinganling Mountains in Heilongjiang Province, the south bank of the upper reaches of Heilongjiang, and the northernmost point of Northeast China. It faces Russia across the Heilongjiang River. It is the county with the highest latitude in China and the It is the county with the lowest temperature in China, with winter temperatures generally below -40°C. This description of Mohe comes from Baidu, and it is also my first impression of Mohe.

With the mentality of going to Mohe to find the north, I started planning my winter vacation itinerary and buying travel equipment. Finally, I decided on the route Changchun-Jilin-Xuexiang-Xuegu-Harbin-Qiqihar-Mohe. In fact, During the itinerary, the route was adjusted according to specific conditions and finally completed my trip to Mohe.

After getting on the train to Mohe in Qiqihar, the whole carriage was roughly divided into two categories of people. One was the locals returning home for the New Year; the other was the tourists from the south. I belonged to the second category. But my seat was almost entirely surrounded by locals who had returned home. They were as enthusiastic as the Northeasterners I had seen. They told me about the customs and customs of Daxinganling along the way, and told me to keep warm before getting off the bus.

I stayed in the Arctic Village in Mohe for 3 days. During these 3 days, I did not rush to find scenic spots, nor did I go to the more primitive and remote Beihong Village. A group of friends from the tour walked around the village, looked at the snow, played games, and experienced the fun of the locals.

I have seen sunrises in many places, such as the seaside, mountain tops, deserts and Qinghai Lake. Every sunrise has its own uniqueness. The sunrise in Mohe is a little more colorful. Against the backdrop of the vast white snow, it looks particularly dazzling.

There is a long wooden staircase at the entrance of Beiji Village. A group of us climbed to the top on the snow and looked into the distance. A long red morning glow appeared on the horizon, which seemed to tell us , the sun is coming out soon. Gradually, the sun showed its figure, and the red clouds echoed the white snow, adding to the beauty.

After staying in the city for several years, I rarely look up at the sky at night because I know that there is almost only a small chance of seeing the moon and stars. It's different here. Almost every day there are blue skies and white clouds, which contrast with the snow. In the evening, I wanted to go out to find friends, but it was pitch dark outside. I stood in the courtyard of the youth hostel not knowing which way to go. I looked up inadvertently and saw the stars in the sky. My heart almost melted.

Although I have seen too much snow along the way, I have never had a real snowball fight. So, I made an appointment with some friends from the youth hostel to go to Heilongjiang to have a snowball fight together. In winter, Heilongjiang is completely white, which is a bit dazzling under the sunlight. Standing on the shore, we can vaguely see the national boundary line in the middle of the river, and we can also see the small Russian village on the other side of the river.

The four of us started the battle. It was our first snowball fight and we had little experience. My friend threw the snow into my neck. The cold feeling made me jump up. Not to be outdone, I grabbed the snowball and threw it to my friends. We had a good time screaming and laughing.

The "Aurora" here is different from the natural phenomenon that everyone knows. It refers to the tourists who come to the Arctic Village to take the challenge of "taking off their naked bodies". They, regardless of gender, young or old, all like to commemorate their visit here in this way. Of course, the "stripping" I saw was not really stripping. Boys would leave a pair of underwear on, and girls would usually wear a short-sleeved shirt or show their backs to others. In my opinion, this kind of behavior is inappropriate. A little erotic feeling, but courage, the courage to challenge myself in the extremely cold weather of minus 40 degrees.

Every time I visit a place, I always buy a few local postcards as souvenirs, and occasionally send a few to friends who have the same hobbies. Before coming to Mohe, I brought a set of postcards to send out at the Northernmost Post Office. When I got here, I learned that they also provide a service of printing photos into postcards. That evening, I went to the Northernmost Post Office alone to send postcards, hoping that my friends would receive New Year greetings from the Northernmost Post Office.

In addition, I also gained a group of friends who stayed in the youth hostel. It's a coincidence that the people who stayed in the youth hostel in those days all had some connection with Sichuan. Three beautiful girls were from Chongqing, one elder brother worked in Chengdu, and his brother who was traveling with him studied in Chengdu. In addition, two people who worked as volunteers in the youth hostel This girl is a Cantonese who went to school in Chengdu. It was fate that we met in Mohe.

Mohe is a place I want to go to again after I have been there, not only because I want to see Mohe in summer, but also because I have left too many good memories in Mohe.

These experiences are like taking root and remain in my memory. As time goes by, they become clearer and clearer. The roads I have traveled and the people I have met will become beautiful memories that I will never forget.
