Climate classification is a process of dividing the global climate into several types according to certain standards. Due to different purposes or disciplines, climate classification schemes are divided in different ways. It can be roughly divided into two types:

(1) theoretical classification (also known as genetic classification). Its emphasis is on the division according to the factors that form the climate, such as Arisov (Soviet scholar) method based on air mass.
