What was the name of the first meteorological satellite in China?
Fengyun-1 meteorological satellite is the first generation of sun-synchronous orbit meteorological satellite developed in China. Fengyun-1 meteorological satellite * * * has four satellites, which is a series of polar-orbiting meteorological satellites in China. * * * Three satellites have been launched, namely FY- 1A, 1B and1C. Fengyun-1 A and Fengyun-1 B satellites were launched on September 7, 1988 and September 3, 1990, respectively. The performance of Fengyun-1 C satellite has been greatly improved and has been included in the world meteorological service application satellite sequence. The prototype design of Fengyun-1 D satellite began in 2000, and it was launched by Long March 4 B rocket at Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center on May 15, 2005.
