Burkina Faso (French: Burkina Faso) is a landlocked country located in the upper reaches of volta river in West Africa. It borders Benin and Niger in the east, C? te d 'Ivoire, Ghana and Togo in the south, and Mali in the west and north. Most parts of the whole territory are inland plateaus with flat terrain, gentle north-south slope and an average elevation of less than 300 meters. The main rivers are Muwen River, Nakombo River and Najinon River.

Burkina Faso has a savanna climate, with annual precipitation ranging from 500 to 1000 mm, with more in the south and less in the north.
