There is the largest existing redwood forest in the world in the national park, including 170 square kilometers of old forest areas over 100 years. It is close to the ocean, and the climate is mild and humid, which creates extremely favorable conditions for the growth of sequoia. The coastline stretches for 55 kilometers, with steep rock walls and wide beaches. The height difference from sea level to 950 meters above sea level, together with abundant annual average rainfall of 2,500 mm and humid maritime climate all year round, make national parks present colorful natural ecological characteristics. There are as many as 856 recorded vegetation types, of which 699 are local, and the most important vegetation type is Sequoia. As for the wild animals in the park, there are 75 species of mammals and more than 400 species of birds.
