From the beginning of menstrual period, before getting up every morning, put the thermometer in your mouth for 5 minutes, don't talk, don't do any activities, and then record the measured temperature on the record sheet.

In order to improve the accuracy of measuring basal body temperature, we should throw the mercury column on the thermometer below 35℃ before going to bed every night, and put it on the bedside table or beside the pillow, so as to be handy when using it and minimize activities. If you get up to get a thermometer, it will increase the basal body temperature and make the temperature value of this day meaningless. For women who work in the middle shift or night shift, the time to measure the basal body temperature should be when they wake up after sleeping for 4-6 hours each time.

Basal body temperature generally needs to be measured continuously for more than 3 menstrual cycles to explain the problem. If the menstrual cycle is regular, you can basically know your ovulation date after measuring the basal body temperature of several menstrual cycles. In order to reduce the trouble, we can choose to start testing the body temperature 3-4 days before ovulation, and continue testing for 3-4 days after the body temperature rises, that is, we only need to measure the basal body temperature during ovulation to meet the needs of contraception.
