Can cupping be done in rainy days?
Better not. Because the pores are wide open after cupping, the moisture outside can easily enter.
Cupping is a kind of therapy with cupping as a tool, which generates negative pressure by burning and pumping air, so that it can be adsorbed on the body surface, causing local blood stasis, thus achieving the functions of dredging meridians, promoting qi and blood circulation, relieving swelling and pain, expelling wind and dispelling cold. Cupping therapy has a long history in China. As early as the Western Han Dynasty, there was a record of "angle method" in the silk book "Fifty-two Prescriptions for Diseases", which was similar to cupping therapy in later generations. Cupping therapy is also very popular in ancient Greece and Rome abroad.
When is the best time for cupping?
1. Actually, cupping has little to do with the weather. After cupping, skin pores will open for half an hour, and moisture and cold will enter.
2. It is best to choose cupping in dry and sunny weather to promote blood circulation.
3. If cupping is needed in rainy days, lie down for half an hour after cupping, and get up and go out for a walk when the pores shrink.
Precautions for cupping
Keep the indoor air fresh when cupping, avoid direct fan blowing in summer, and keep warm indoors in winter to avoid feeling cold.
Pay attention to cleaning and disinfection. The performer's hands and the cupping parts of the recipient should be cleaned or disinfected routinely, and cupping instruments must be disinfected routinely.
Blood stasis, water droplets, itching and cupping can cause local blisters and bleeding spots on the skin, which are all normal treatment reactions. General yang syndrome and heat syndrome show bright red ecchymosis; Yin syndrome and cold syndrome are mostly purplish red or reddish ecchymosis; Cold syndrome and wet syndrome often show blisters and drops; Deficiency syndrome is usually flush or reddish. If there is no ecchymosis or flushing locally, it will disappear immediately after cupping, indicating that the condition is still light, not serious or close to recovery.
Generally, it is not advisable to take a bath within 3 hours after cupping.
When cupping, symptoms such as cold limbs, nausea and vomiting, palpitation, pallor, lethargy, cold sweat and dizziness appear, which is called cupping. You should immediately stop cupping, let the patient lie flat, drink warm boiled water or sugar water, and rest for a while so as to get better. In case of severe cupping, you should acupuncture or pinch Baihui, Yongquan, Zusanli, Zhongchong, Neiguan and Renzhong points, or moxibustion Baihui, Qihai, Yongquan and Guanyuan points, and send them to the hospital for emergency treatment if necessary.
