The weather in the northeast is cold.

Sakhalin Island is located in the northeast of Eurasia, southeast of Heilongjiang estuary, with continental climate, cold summer and half a year in winter. The average temperature in winter is between-19℃ and -24℃, while the lowest temperature in Northeast China can reach -40℃.

Sakhalin Island, formerly known as Kuye, Kuwu, Gushi or Black Dragon Island. The Russian translation of the name "sakhalin island" is "the land of shrimp and foreigners in the north" (referring to the north of Hokkaido) or "Huatai" in Japan. Located in Outer Manzhouli (Outer Manzhouli), the island is now the largest island in the Russian Federation and is under the jurisdiction of Sakhalin.
