According to the report, Yamada Hiroshi expressed dissatisfaction with the current weather forecast method of the Japan Meteorological Agency, saying that "the Senkaku Islands area (Diaoyu Island) is a fishing boat channel, and although it is the territory of China (Japan), it does not broadcast the weather forecast", and asked Toshihiko Hashida, director of the Japan Meteorological Agency, "Is it technically feasible to broadcast the weather forecast of the Senkaku Islands alone". Hashida gave a positive answer, but Abe said that "the Senkaku Islands are our territory and under our actual control".

Later, Abe said that the weather forecast of Japan Meteorological Agency divided the whole country into 142 area, and Diaoyu Island was included in Ishigaki Island. In addition, the marine weather forecast for the southern part of the East China Sea is also being broadcast. Yamada, who refused to give up, demanded that Diaoyu Island be separated from Ishigaki Island and Japan be turned into 143 area for weather forecast. Abe said, "It will let the Meteorological Agency consider whether to divide it into 143 area".

It is reported that Abe affirmed China's "One Belt, One Road" initiative at an international conference held in Tokyo on the evening of 5th, saying that he would cooperate with China if conditions were ripe.
