Introduction to the history of Qingshuiyan Temple

It was built in the sixth year of Yuanfeng in the Northern Song Dynasty (1083). The mountain site was originally named Zhang Yanshan. In the seventh year of Yuanyou (1093), it was renamed Qingshuiyan because it stood on Zhangyan Mountain and had beautiful scenery.

From the second year of Jingyan in the Southern Song Dynasty (1277) to modern times, Qingshuiyan Temple has undergone more than 20 reconstructions, expansions and reconstructions, and its scale has gradually increased. It was most prosperous in the 43rd year of Jiajing in the Ming Dynasty (1564). The existing building was built in the sixth year of the Qing Dynasty (1761), following the remains of the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties, and its shape basically maintains its original appearance.

According to investigation, there are 29 cultural relics from the Song Dynasty, 1 from the Yuan Dynasty, 8 from the Ming Dynasty, 5 from the Qing Dynasty, and the rest have been partially annihilated.

From then on, Zhang Xun, Xu Yuan and Yue Fei were enshrined in the three-layered hall of the human world. During the reign of the fifth son of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty, Yang Ling's edition was published in "Qingshuiyan Zhilue": "There are three halls in the rock, dedicated to Zhang Shijie, Lu Xiufu and Wen Tianxiang of the Song Dynasty." ’ I don’t know when Guan Yu joined the temple. Chu Miyan

According to legend, whenever there was a severe drought, the founder of Qingshui would stand on a stone and pray for rain for the people, and he would get rain. If there is water, the farmland can be sown, that is, there is rice, so it is also called "rice stone". A couplet in seal script written by Yan Haotiankou: "Eat poverty and gather rice in front of rocks, help the world and support dragons in deep bowls". This is the former sage stone's portrayal of water stone. There is still water in the gaps between the stones, which is amazing.
