What's the weather like in New Zealand?
climate
New Zealand has a maritime temperate broad-leaved forest climate, with a temperature difference of only 10 degrees, long sunshine in summer and fresh air in winter. New Zealand includes three main islands-North Island, South Island and Stewart Island. North Island and South Island have their own characteristics. North Island has a mild climate, with an average annual temperature of about 15℃, while South Island has four distinct seasons, with an average annual temperature of about 10℃. New Zealand is located in the southern hemisphere, and the seasonal changes are just the opposite of those in China. September to November is spring, December to February is summer, March to May is autumn, and June to August is winter. Summer is the most stable weather, so it is most suitable for holidays. So traditionally, New Zealanders arrange their main family holidays at Christmas and last until January.
safe
New Zealand is one of the safest tourist destinations in the world, with a low crime rate, almost no endemic diseases, and a first-class medical care and accident compensation system. However, we should always be alert to our personal safety and be foolproof.

The mountains in New Zealand have an overall impact on the climate, and the weather in New Zealand changes rapidly. The perennial west wind carries a lot of water vapor in tasman sea, which is forced to rise because of the barrier of mountains. As the upper air cools, heavy rain forms, and at higher altitudes, snow forms.
The main mountains in New Zealand, especially those in the South Island, are like a watershed, and the climate types on both sides of the mountains are completely different. The southwest coast of South Island is one of the wettest areas in the world. Due to the barrier of mountains, the east coast is relatively dry.
The seasons in New Zealand are just the opposite of those in the northern hemisphere. December to March is the hottest month, and June to September is the coldest month. The northern region has a subtropical climate in summer, so the temperature is higher. There is occasional snowfall only near major mountainous areas, and it rarely lasts for more than a day or two at low altitudes. It never snows in the north of North Island.
In summer, the sunshine in the whole country is very strong, and it is easy to get sunburned. Therefore, from April to1October, it is best not to be exposed to the sun between 1 1 am and 4 pm.
