Historical landscape of Qishan town

Qishan area belongs to the Yellow River flood area in history, and the ancient Yellow River has been breached, making it alluvial into a plain. Based on Yanqi Highway, which now runs through Qishan Town, there are some brownish red silt soil in the east and yellow sandy soil in the west, which is suitable for planting wheat, corn, miscellaneous grains, taro, cotton, melons and vegetables and fruit trees. There are two natural rivers in the southwest and northeast: Luwan River in the south, with a deep channel, and Gupao River in the north, with many tributaries, which makes the landform in the territory slightly different. Qishan is the only mountain in Pei County. According to legend, Qishan has seven peaks in ancient times, so it is called Qishan. Later, due to the flood deposition in past dynasties, the only remaining peaks were located in the center, southwest and northeast of Qishan Village. 1948 On the eve of liberation in Peixian County, this area is about 40m long, 8m wide and 3m high. The administrative divisions of Wei, Zhai, District, Township and Town were all named after Qishan. After liberation, due to quarrying for public and civil buildings all the year round, it has become a large stone pit with a depth of 40 meters and an area of about 4000 square meters. Looking up at the mountain and looking down at Bitan, some people now call Qishan "the strange mountain".
