When concrete construction encounters rainy and hot weather in summer, these tricks should be remembered.

The most striking features of summer construction are high ambient temperature, low relative humidity and abundant rain, which not only have beneficial effects on fresh hardened concrete, but also have adverse effects, often leading to problems such as fast setting speed and reduced strength.

(1) Technicians should prepare the construction organization design and make special construction plans according to the characteristics of summer construction to avoid the influence of excessive rain and high temperature on concrete quality. Make detailed disclosure to the construction operators and supervise their earnest implementation.

(2) On the overall construction progress, attention should be paid to arranging the foundation works to be completed before the rainy season.

(3) If the rainfall is too large, the construction should be stopped; If the heavy rain lasts too long, the construction joints should be handled well; If the rainfall is not large, the construction can be continued. The mixing station is required to reduce slump and prolong mixing time according to rainfall. The slump of concrete mixture and the moisture content of sand should be measured at any time, and the amount of sand and water in the original ratio should be adjusted in time according to the moisture content to achieve dynamic control and management.

(4) In high temperature climate, concrete can be mixed with deep well water, or the temperature of raw materials can be lowered by methods such as sand scouring, stone washing and cement with low hydration heat, or low-temperature water and ice can be used to cool down and prolong the mixing time.

(5) In high temperature climate, concrete should be poured before 6 o'clock in the morning and after 17 o'clock in the evening to control the temperature difference between the inside and outside of concrete.

(6) Concrete covering: After pouring in the rain or at high temperature, it is the best and most economical method to cover the surface with plastic film, which can not only prevent the rain from washing away, but also ensure that the moisture in the concrete will not be evaporated rapidly in the high temperature climate and cause shrinkage cracks.

(7) Maintenance: strengthen maintenance and keep it moist for 7d, and maintain it continuously and intermittently within 14d.

(8) Check whether the concrete is poured, whether there is slurry leakage due to rain, and whether there are pits, holes and exposed tendons. After the template is removed. If yes, find out the reason and put forward the treatment plan in time.
