Zhaga, a fairyland village in Stone Town.
"Zagana" is Tibetan, which means "stone box". The terrain here is surrounded by white stone peaks. These huge peaks, like a stone wall, enclose Zhaga into a stone city, or a huge palace. There are four Tibetan villages and a temple in this huge stone city. Walking from the outside, through the natural stone gate formed by two opposing peaks, entering Zhaga seems to be entering a paradise. There are many tourists here, and people who love photography also like it here.
When we arrived in Zaga, the weather was very good. Walk along the plank road to the east of the mountain. On the hillside full of wild flowers, there is a nice name called Fairy Beach. Standing on the observation deck, you can have a panoramic view of Zhaga. Under the sunshine at different times, the village presents different colors. Of course, the most classic scenery here is the afterglow of the sunset. At the last moment before going down the mountain, thousands of beams were projected on the golden roofs of villages and temples.
The weather in the mountains is changeable, more capricious than that in the grasslands. We went down the mountain after the sunset in the evening, and when it was fine, it suddenly began to hail and rain heavily. It rained all night, and the next morning, another classic scenery of Zhaga appeared: morning fog lingered over the Rocky Mountains, villages and temples, and Zhaga was really like a fairyland at this time. Boarding the observation deck in the west, Zagana appeared in front of him in another way. Clouds come and go with the wind, villages are swaying, and the highland barley thoroughly washed by rain is green and full of vitality.
At the height of Zhagana, there is a Lasang Temple, which is called Lasang Temple by local people. Several halls in the temple are not very large in scale, but they are all magnificent. There is a huge prayer wheel in front of the front hall, which seems to be several years old. In the middle of the prayer wheel around the main hall, there is also a yak skull with beautiful scriptures written on it. The temple is under construction, and it is muddy after the rain, but it does not prevent the Tibetan ancestors and grandmothers from going up the mountain in the morning, simmering mulberry in front of the golden pagoda and turning around the temple, which is very pious.
There are four villages in Zagayina, scattered on the hillside, with rows of wooden Tibetan houses. Walking in the village is very quiet. Occasionally I can meet Tibetan villagers. There are many century-old houses in the village. Perhaps because of the development of tourism, the first three villages have built too many tall homestays, which look too new. Yeri Village, located at the top, may be the least affected, retaining more original features. The village is built on a hill, surrounded by wheat fields.
As early as nearly a hundred years ago, American botanist Joseph Charles Francis Rock came here and was shocked by the beauty of Zagana, calling it the birthplace of Adam and Eve. After crossing Guanggai Mountain from Zhagana Houshan, you can reach Zhuoni after passing through the centennial Tibetan village of Zhaiba and the centennial ancient temple of Gongba Temple. Locke gave a comprehensive description of the folk customs and beautiful scenery in this area with 46 pages and 49 pictures in the National Geographic magazine in 1928+0 1 month. The road he walked is also called "Locke's Road". Unfortunately, the road is being built now and it is impassable. Leave a little regret and come again next time.
