Zhang Lijuan, director of the Pollution Source Office of the Atmospheric Department of the Satellite Environment Application Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, explained by experts that the sandstorm process mainly started in the early morning of 14, and quickly moved eastward and southward under the action of cold air, affecting the air quality in Ningxia, Shaanxi, Shanxi, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and most parts of Northeast China. Yesterday morning, the main body of dust gradually moved out of Beijing, but because of the large scope of dust, although the main body of dust has moved out of Beijing, it has not gone too far. The wind direction in Beijing changed to southwest wind, which made the dust not go far and began to flow back to Beijing.

According to experts' interpretation, this large-scale dust weather is not a problem of shelterbelts in China, but because the dust comes from Mongolia, and the height of the dust in the air can reach several hundred meters, and even higher it can reach several thousand meters. So this is far from a sandstorm that shelter forests can stop, and it will appear for such a long time and on such a large scale. So people must try their best to protect themselves when they go out. Avoid going out as much as possible. If you want to go out, you must wear relevant protective tools to avoid being attacked and affected by dust.
