Who knows what Kanas monster is?

The mysterious and beautiful Kanas Lake

Kanas Lake is located in the virgin forest in Altai Mountain area in northern Xinjiang. Kanas means beauty, richness and mystery in the local minority languages. Kanas is shaped like a long loofah, 25 kilometers long from north to south and 2.5 kilometers wide from east to west. The deepest part of the lake188m, with an altitude of 2370m. With the change of climate and season, the lake will show different colors such as red, blue, green and white, colorful and colorful. Therefore, Kanas Lake is also called Color-changing Lake.

For thousands of years, the legend of Kanas Lake Monster has been circulating in Kanas Lake area. It is said that cattle, horses and other livestock are often dragged away by "water monsters" for no reason. Sometimes it is a group of horses or cows. They only see their footprints when they go to the lake to drink water, but they soon disappear. Sometimes people paddle into the lake, but it is calm, but it doesn't return.

There are many such legends in the Lake District. It is said that the Kanas Lake monster is huge and unpredictable, and it can swallow a calf in one bite. It often attacks and devours cattle and horses by the lake. 193 1 A herdsman was grazing by the lake when he suddenly heard a "rumble" in the lake. The herdsmen were surprised and looked into the lake. Just now, a huge wave suddenly rose on the calm lake, and the waves flew and shone with dazzling red light in the sun. I saw more than a dozen giant red fish-shaped monsters tumbling and jumping on the water, stirring up the lake, which was very spectacular.

The "9.27" earthquake in 2003 made Kanas "Lake Monster" heat wave again. At that time, local officials in Kanas, who were checking the safety of tourism in the lake, saw two huge black objects rushing out of the water for more than 20 meters and quickly diving into the water. Several tourists who are sightseeing have also found the same phenomenon. Is there really a "lake monster" in Kanas Lake? Is this really the "lake monster" who jumped into the lake?

To solve this problem, let's first look at the discovery history of "Lake Monster".

1980, the relevant units in Xinjiang organized an investigation team composed of scientific and technical personnel to start a two-month scientific investigation of Kanas Lake and its surrounding natural environment, animals and plants. The expedition learned all kinds of rumors about Kanas Lake monster in detail, and found complete animal bones such as cattle, horses and sheep in the shallow water along the lake. According to the research, this is not really caused by people and animals on land, but may really be a monster attack in the lake.

1In July, 1985, Xiang, director of biology department of Xinjiang University, and Yuan, researcher of Xinjiang Institute of Environmental Protection, respectively led a team to inspect Kanas Lake and made a comprehensive inspection of Kanas Lake.

Xiang carries a high-powered telescope with him and stands quietly by the lake from morning till night every day, staring intently at the lake. It was the morning of July 20th. Professor Xiang and his team members were enjoying the beautiful scenery of nature on the top of the lake and found something reddish in the lake. At first, they thought it was aquatic plants or driftwood. Later, the professor found that these red things were flowing. After careful observation through the telescope, he couldn't help but cry, "Ah, it's a fish, it's a big ruby!" " As the big red fish slowly floats, its head and tail fins are exposed from time to time. The fish head is about as thick as the spruce crown on the shore, with a diameter of about 1 m, or as big as a Beijing 2 12 jeep, showing a fiery red like a comb. When the giant mouth is opened and closed, the water spit out forms semicircular ripples. There is a red line on the back, which is 5 meters long. Everyone on the mountain saw a big fish at that time.

When Xiang told Yuan, a researcher at Xinjiang Institute of Environment, about the discovery of Dahongyu, Yuan didn't believe it. On July 24th, he also ran to the lake and really saw Dahongyu.

When explaining what happened that day, Yuan said that the biggest fish he saw that day was estimated to be above 10 meter. Reminiscent of the story of "Dahongyu" told by people, and the other seven kinds of fish found here are not big, they think that the so-called "lake monster" is Hucho!
