Climatic characteristics of Chongqing in winter

Chongqing is located in the subtropical inland area of the northern hemisphere and belongs to the humid monsoon climate type in the middle subtropical zone. There are mountains in the north and southeast, which constitute the marginal mountains of Sichuan Basin. It has formed a climate feature of "hot summer and warm winter, long frost-free period" and is one of the three "stoves" in the Yangtze River.

The climate characteristics of Chongqing are:

(1) It is hot in summer and warm in winter, with a long frost-free period. Leng Yue (65438+1October) has an average temperature of 7.8℃, a frost-free period of 340-350 days, and an active accumulated temperature above 0℃ of 6000-6900℃, which is the longest frost-free period in the same latitude.

(2) The precipitation is abundant and unevenly distributed in time and space. Affected by the Qinghai-Tibet high and subtropical high, heavy rains often lead to droughts in July and August for 30-50 days.

(3) It is rainy in autumn, foggy in winter and few sunshine hours, so it is called "foggy city".

(4) The vertical distribution of climate is obvious. Due to the influence of topography, Chongqing generally has two inversion layers, about 500-600 meters and 800 meters. The precipitation increases with the elevation, and the rain areas vary from place to place.
