What are the characteristics and historical background of Mutianyu Great Wall?
Features of scenic spots
(1) The vegetation coverage rate is high-the plant species in the scenic spot are extremely rich, and the vegetation coverage rate is over 96%. The scenery is different and pleasant all year round, and it enjoys the reputation of "Great Wall of Wan Li, Mutianyu is a must" at home and abroad.
(2) Pass is too special-Tian Mu Valley is different from Juyongguan, Shanhaiguan and Jiayuguan. Zhengguan Pass consists of three hollow watchtowers, which are connected and placed side by side. The two sides of the tower are smaller, and the building in the middle is larger. There are three watchtowers above the three watchtowers. The closure of the platform is not in the center, but on the east side of the platform, and the entrance and exit of the platform are also set by enemy buildings on both sides. This unique platform building is rare in the Great Wall of Wan Li.
(3) The enemy towers are dense-from one sub-tree (big turret) to four sub-trees (viewing platform), less than 500 meters, there are four enemy towers; From one to twenty sub-trees, the length is only 3000 meters, and there are 25 enemy towers, platforms, wall platforms and shops. It is also rare for the Great Wall 100 meter to have an enemy tower.
(4) The Great Wall has double battlements-most other sections of the Great Wall have battlements on the outside of the Great Wall, while Mutianyu section has battlements on both sides, which are blockhouses for soldiers guarding the city to fight against the enemy. The battlements on both sides mean that both sides are fighting the enemy, which shows the important strategic position of Mutianyu Great Wall in history.
(5) The coexistence of internal and external sub-cities-sub-cities, that is, the Great Wall built outside the main Great Wall according to the needs of fighting along the mountain. Mutianyu's outer branch city is the Great Wall connecting eleven sub-wooden stations, and its inner branch city is the "bare tail edge".
(6) Full of three-dimensional sense-Guyakou, Tian Mu, the lowest terrain, only 486 meters above sea level, rises abruptly to the east, reaching Dajiaolou (Zimu No.1) less than 500 meters, rising 1 17 meters; To the west, from Zimu 4 (that is, the viewing platform) to Zimu 19, the fluctuation is small and relatively gentle. From Zimu 20 to Niujiaobian, the highest point, it only passes through the watchtower near 10, and rises 533 meters from 486 meters in Mutianyu Pass to 1039 meters, which is spectacular.
