Scenic Spot Introduction

The Xuefeng Temple (Chongsheng Temple) on Xuefeng Mountain is relatively famous, predating Yongquan Temple by more than 30 years. It is one of the five major Zen forests in Fuzhou. Also known as Chongsheng Temple, its full name is Xuefeng Chongsheng Temple. It was built in the 11th year of Tang Xiantong (870). Most of the existing temples were rebuilt during the Guangxu period.

The main buildings in the temple include the mountain gate, the Dharma Hall, the Main Hall and the Zhaitang. In the Mahatma Hall there is the Tathagata Emerald Buddha III from Myanmar. The eighteen Arhats have different postures and are lifelike. There are four ancient trees outside the mountain gate. According to legend, these two big trees were planted by the king of Fujian and eminent monks of the Tang Dynasty and have a history of thousands of years. Xiao's two plants were planted by monks in the Ming Dynasty five or six hundred years ago. There are Indian Sanskrit Baya Sutras and Buddha statues in the temple, which are quite precious.
