Judging from the legal requirements, the front fog lamp does not have to be installed, of course, it refers to the scope of passenger cars, and the rear fog lamp must be installed! Therefore, even if many car companies are playing with cost reduction, at least one rear fog lamp can be left, and the front fog lamp is gradually replaced by LED matrix light source with stronger brightness. Because the LED light source itself is relatively bright and integrated with the corner light, the front fog light of the current car has become a combination of low beam light and corner light!

Principle and composition of front fog lamp

The traditional front fog lamp should be like the above picture, yellow light, arranged in a low position, with higher brightness intensity than the low beam lamp; The wavelength of yellow light is second only to red light, and it belongs to a long-wavelength light source, so it has strong penetration; Secondly, friends should have experienced foggy weather. The closer the fog is to the ground, the thinner the fog is. Therefore, arranging the front fog lamp at a lower position can not only avoid the serious light scattering caused by too much fog, but also use the powerful penetration ability of the yellow light to illuminate the road conditions. Therefore, the traditional low-position fog lamp can not only illuminate the road ahead, but also prevent the influence of light scattering on other vehicles!

Fog lamps are integrated in the headlights.

In fact, the headlights of cars are most likely to contain the design elements of car companies. The traditional low-position fog lamp makes the front face design of the car split, so the front fog lamp is directly integrated into the headlight group, as shown in the above picture, which is the fog lamp with the lower position of the light group; Once this design style is adopted, the low-position fog lamp will be cancelled, so many friends think it is cancelled, but in fact it is just a change of position!

Combination of low beam and corner lamp

There may be many friends who don't quite understand this corner lamp. In fact, I only heard about it from a German car owner in recent years. Corner lights are also called all-weather lights, which can be simply understood as an upgraded version of the traditional independent front fog lights. It can adjust the brightness and lighting angle according to the actual visibility outside, and can also ensure the lighting ability without scattering. I really have to admire the understanding and creativity of the lamp factory. In the future, this kind of corner lamp (all-weather lamp) integrated in LED light group will inevitably become the mainstream design of automobile light source, and the independent front fog lamp design will inevitably be eliminated!

As shown in the above figure, only the rear fog light icon and the front fog light icon have been replaced by the all-weather light icon. To be fair, this is not to cancel the fog lights. Although there is no requirement to force front fog lights, the main engine factory must also take into account all the bad conditions that may be encountered during driving, such as fog, rainstorm and heavy snow. Traditional fog lamps can't change the lighting angle and intensity, but after entering the era of LED matrix headlights, these can be changed, and the lighting intensity can be increased or decreased according to the actual situation, and the lighting angle can be changed according to the demand, so it is still better than the simple low-position fog lamps in the past!

After all, all-weather headlights include fog, rain, snow and other weather, so they are better than the independent low-position fog lights in the past. Therefore, most brand cars did not cancel the front fog lights, but changed their forms; Some low-position fog lights are integrated in the headlight group, while some high-end models completely replace fog lights with all-weather lights (of course, it is not excluded that some cheap cars are equipped with front fog lights to reduce costs); As for the rear fog lamp, it is still equipped with a traditional red light source (which plays the role of super penetration). Generally, there will be two rear fog lights, and if it is reduced, there will be one. In short, the rear fog lights will not be cancelled, and at least one will be equipped!
