"Emperor" Shi Jingtang
Li Congke sent tens of thousands of troops to attack Jinyang City where Shi Jingtang was located. Shi Jingtang can't resist, Jinyang is the key. A counselor, Sanwei Han, gave him an idea and asked the Khitans for help.
At that time, Lu Ye Paul machine was dead, and his son Lu Ye Deguang took over the position of the kingdom of Qidan. Sang Hanwei helped Shi Jingtang to draft a distress letter to Yeludeguang, expressing his willingness to worship the Khitan Lord as his father, and promised to cede the land of sixteen states (also known as sixteen states of Youyun, sixteen states of Yunzhou, all in northern Hebei and Shanxi provinces) to the Khitan after repelling Tang Jun.
Shi Jingtang's surrender was opposed by the headquarters. Ministry Liu Zhiyuan said: "It's no problem for you to ask Qidan for help, but it's too much to worship him as a father;" Besides, it doesn't matter if you promise them some gold and silver treasures. You shouldn't cede the land. "
Shi Jingtang, who was bent on safeguarding his own interests, did not listen to Liu Zhiyuan's dissuasion. With these traitorous conditions, he sent Sang Weihan to see Yeludeguang in a hurry.
Ye Ludeguang wanted to expand his land to the south, but he was overjoyed to hear that Shi Jingtang offered such generous terms. He immediately sent fifty thousand elite cavalry to save Jinyang.
Shi Jingtang attacked from Jinyang City and defeated Tang Jun.
Yelvdeguang came to Jinyang, and Shi Jingtang went out to meet him personally. He called Yeludeguang, who was ten years younger than him, his father, and asked why the Khitan soldiers could defeat Tang Jun so quickly. YeLvDeGuang proudly blew a phone call, Shi Jingtang immediately expressed admiration and joy YeLvDeGuang.
After some observation, Yeludeguang felt that Shi Jingtang was really dead set on taking refuge in him, so he said to Shi Jingtang, "I have traveled three thousand miles to save you, and finally got something. I think your appearance and bearing are enough to be the Lord of the Central Plains, so I want to make you emperor! "
Shi Jingtang also hypocritically refused, and after the next persuasion, he accepted it gladly. The Khitan monarch officially declared Shi Jingtang emperor. After Shi Jingtang proclaimed himself, he immediately ceded sixteen states to the Khitan as promised.
Relying on the support of the Khitan, Shi Jingtang led troops south to attack Luoyang. Li Congke, the emperor at the end of the Tang Dynasty, suffered several defeats in succession and was terrified by the momentum of the Khitan. He was crying while drinking in the sky, waiting for his own demise. Where is the courage to resist? Before soldiers from Shi Jingtang entered Luoyang, the Emperor of the Later Tang Dynasty had lit a fire in his palace and committed suicide with his family.
Shi Jingtang captured Luoyang, destroyed the back beam, and officially became the emperor of the Central Plains, with the title of Gold and its capital as its frontier branch. This is the late Jin emperor. Shi Jingtang was grateful to Yeludeguang, the Lord of the Khitan Kingdom, and wrote a letter to the Khitan Kingdom, calling him the "father emperor" and himself the "son emperor". In addition to paying 300,000 silks to the Khitan every year, on holidays, messengers are also sent to give gifts to the Khitan monarch, queen mother and noble ministers. Those people were dissatisfied and sent people to accuse Shi Jingtang. Shi Jingtang always apologized respectfully. When the rulers' envoys arrived in Khitan, the Khitan officials were full of pride and said many insulting words. The messenger was furious and returned to Bianjing to spread these things. The whole court was ashamed, and only Shi Jingtang was able to shrug off it.
Shi Jingtang, under the protection of the Khitan, became a shameful son emperor for seven years and died of illness. His nephew Shi Zhonggui ascended the throne, that is, he was promoted to the throne. When Emperor Chu Jin presented the throne to the monarch of the Khitan Kingdom, he claimed to be his grandson, but he didn't give in. Ye Ludeguang thought it was disrespectful to him and invaded with troops.
Qidan invaded the Central Plains twice, and was defeated by the hard resistance of the military and civilians in the Jin Dynasty. But in the end, due to the traitor's betrayal, Qidan soldiers entered Bianjing, and Emperor Chu Jin became a prisoner and was escorted to Qidan. The post-Jin dynasty perished.
In 947 AD, Yelvdeguang entered Bianjing, calling himself Emperor Liao (this year, Qidan was renamed Liao). When Beijing people heard that Liao soldiers had entered the city, they fled. Yeludeguang, the master of Liao, boarded the tower and sent someone to announce in Chinese: "Don't be afraid. I'm human too. I didn't want to come, but the Han people led us in. I will definitely make your life better. "
Having said that, it is another story. He connived at Liao soldiers robbing property everywhere in the name of grazing horses, which was called "mowing valley", resulting in hundreds of miles of "white land" near Bianjing and Luoyang. He also ordered Jin officials to search for money and silk, and both officials and people should give it to "laborers".
People in the Central Plains couldn't stand the killing and looting of Liao soldiers, so they organized insurgents to resist Liao soldiers. There are thousands less and tens of thousands more. They attacked counties and killed officials sent by Liao. The rebels in the east were huge and occupied three states. Yeludeguang was afraid and said to the left and right attendants, "I didn't expect the Central Plains people to be so difficult to deal with." After a while, he summoned officials of the Jin Dynasty and announced, "It's hot, and I'm not used to living here. I'm going back to Shang (referring to Liao) to meet the Queen Mother. "
Liao soldiers were forced to withdraw from the Central Plains. However, the sixteen states betrayed by Shi Jingtang were still occupied by the Khitan nobles, which became their bases for later attacking the Central Plains.
