Xinyang is a prefecture-level city in Henan Province.

Xinyang, formerly known as Yiyang, Shenzhou, Gwangju and Shencheng, is a prefecture-level city in Henan Province, known as the tea capital, and located at the southernmost tip of Henan Province. Anhui in the east, Hubei in the west and Hubei in the south. It is the thoroughfare of the three provinces, the strategic location of the Yangtze River and the regional central city of Hubei, Henan and Anhui.

Xinyang has a superior geographical location.
