The geographical environment of Heshan

Geologically, the Cambrian Bacun Group, Devonian, Jurassic, Cretaceous, Paleogene and Quaternary strata are exposed on the surface of Heshan, among which Bacun Group is the most widely distributed.

Intrusive rocks are widely distributed in the city, accounting for more than half of the city's area, and the intrusive rocks belong to acid granite. Geological structure belongs to South China fold system in the middle of Guangdong Depression, including Yapoji anticline, Baishuikeng anticline, Chashan monocline, Great Kunlun monocline and Nashui syncline.

There are Enping-Xinfengshen fault zone and Xijiang fault zone in the territory, among which Enping-Xinfengshen fault zone runs through the whole territory from south to north in the city and is the most important regional fault in China. Terrain Heshan is wide from east to west, long and narrow from north to south, with long peaks in the middle and undulating mountains. The terrain is slightly inclined from west to east, low in the east and lowest in the north. The lowest elevation of Dabuwei is only 1 meter. Hills are mainly distributed in the northeast and south-central part of the city, with an area of 1003 square kilometers, accounting for 90.5% of the total area of the city. Mountain Dayan Moutain: Located in the central part of Guangdong, it is 60 kilometers away from Guangzhou, close to Heshan Port, and next to Guangzhan Highway and Fokai Expressway. Dayan Moutain faces the Xijiang River, so it is named because its mountain looks like a wild goose, with a total area of 300 hectares, and the main peak is 3 10 meters above sea level. It and Xiqiao Mountain in the South China Sea are called "Sister Mountains". The mountains are majestic and undulating. From peak to peak, there are Yanshan Gate, Banshan Pavilion, Lion Peak, Yanshan Pinghu, Riyue Peak, Luyou Pavilion, Zhuangyuanfang and Guiren Peak.

Kunlun Mountain: The peak in the central part of Heshan City. It's 3 kilometers south of Dutch town. The big peak is called Kunshan, and the small peak is called Shan Lun, which are collectively called Kunlun Mountain. It is 604 meters above sea level and covers an area of 1866.7 hectares. It consists of sand shale, purple sand shale and granite. There are seven urn wells and other places of interest in Sanbaokeng Mountain Stream. There are many naturally clustered pine trees on the mountain, with forest land of about 1267 hectares and vegetation coverage rate of 70%. Native products include sharp stones and pit snails. Dragon (Mouth) Crane (City) Highway passes through Shandong side; There is a simple road leading directly to Qiweng Well.

Suyun Mountain: the highest peak in the west of Heshan City. Located in the east of Sihe Village, Shuanghe Town. 637.2 meters above sea level. It covers an area of 48 square kilometers. It faces Zaoping Mountain in the east and Gaoming City and Laoxiangshan Mountain in the northwest. This mountain is made of granite. Around the top of the mountain, there are huge stones like a city, with stone buddhas inside. The stone field in front of the Buddha covers an area of nearly 10 square meter, which is as flat as a chessboard and spectacular. There is Xianrenling in the west, where you can have a panoramic view of Kaiping, Enping, Xinhui, Xinxing, Gaoming and Cliff Sea. Known as the "sea of clouds", it is one of the eight old scenic spots in Heshan. The soil is lateritic red soil and red soil. Since 1949, trees have been planted here all the year round, and there is Tiger House Forest Farm. 1968 for direct afforestation by plane, with 2034 hectares of afforestation and a forest coverage rate of 60%, mainly pine and fir. Chashan: The mountains in the northeast of Heshan City. It extends westward to Lumeitang, Gaoming City, and eastward to Shiyantou (local name) near Xijiang River, with a length of10km from east to west. It is composed of sand shale. The soil is lateritic red soil. It contains limonite, lead ore and silver ore. Halfway up the mountain, there are four natural villages, such as Youdaoping and Baishuikeng Reservoir. The reservoir is built for Xianhe Lake Holiday Villa. There are pine forests 1067 hectares and tea gardens 134 hectares, and the vegetation coverage rate is over 85%.

Dacheng Mountain: Heshan Mountain Range. To the east of Kundong Village in Yayao Town, the mountain range covers an area of 268 hectares with an altitude of 206 meters. It is mainly composed of nine peaks. Dacheng Mountain is rich in species, and the natural trees are peaches, Schima superba and Pinus massoniana. Artificial planting includes Pinus elliottii, Acacia macrophylla, Acacia mangium and other tree species. Wild animals such as black swallow, hairy chicken, tits, etc. There is a spring eye on the mountain, and the spring water is sweet. In 35 years of the Republic of China (1946), Xie Henian, then the county magistrate, nominated "Xiangquan" and set up a monument here. At present, steps have been built from the foot of the mountain to Xiangquan, and four pavilions have been built to gradually build a tourist area. Heshan is located in the south of the Tropic of Cancer (22.29 ~22.52 degrees north latitude and112.28 ~13.25 degrees east longitude), belonging to the south subtropical monsoon region, with no severe cold in winter and no hot summer. It is mild and humid all year round, with maritime climate characteristics and warm light and humidity.
