The former site of Wang Jiayu, the headquarters of the Eighth Route Army, is located in Wang Jiayu Village, 35km east of Wuxiang County, surrounded by mountains and ravines. On the edge of Wang Jiayu village, stands a sturdy poplar tree, which was planted by Commander-in-Chief Zhu De in the spring of 1940.

Up to now, this tree has grown into a towering tree for more than 50 years.
