Visit to Hong Xuezhi

Hong Xuezhi, a native of Jinzhai, Anhui Province, joined the revolutionary work in March 1929, joined the China Producers' Party in May of the same year, was awarded the rank of general in 1955, and was awarded the rank of general again in 1988.

Jinzhai County is a famous general county in China. As an outstanding representative of the son of a farmer who came out of Dabie Mountain, General Hong Xuezhi was very concerned about the construction and development of his hometown. His affection for the innocence of mulberry in his life has been deeply cherished by relatives in his hometown and will always be remembered.

Go home seven times

General Hong Xuezhi has been thinking about the mountains and rivers in his hometown, his comrades-in-arms and relatives buried in his hometown, and his hometown people who have made great contributions and sacrifices to the China revolution.

1In August, 953, just after the Korean armistice was realized, Hong Xuezhi took the opportunity of studying in Nanjing Military Academy and returned to his hometown after more than 20 years. Hong Xuezhi arrived without pomp, and there was only one escort. At that time, the traffic in Jinzhai County was very backward, and cars could only reach Jinjiazhai, the county seat. After he got off the bus, he walked more than 30 miles to his hometown Shuanghe. The leaders of the district Committee put forward: "The hometown has just been liberated, and the social security situation is still very complicated. Please ask the general to board and lodge in the district Committee. " Hong Xuezhi said humorously, "I came back from vacation to visit my relatives. If the accommodation is not at home, what is it called to visit relatives? " He declined the arrangement of the county leaders and moved in with his cousin Hong Xuecheng. When the villagers heard that Hong Xuezhi was back, they rushed to meet him and talked with him. At this time, the accompanying local cadres and security guards kept more people away from them for safety reasons. Seeing this, Hong Xuezhi said, "I have been away from home for so many years, and everyone in the village wants to see me. This is human nature. Don't stop them. " Then, he enthusiastically said to the villagers, "Come closer, I want to take a photo with the villagers." The guards quickly picked up the camera and photographed a precious scene of Hong Xuezhi and the people in his hometown. Hong Xuezhi had a heart-to-heart talk with the villagers, asking about the cold and the warm. He encouraged the villagers to say: "The country has just been liberated, and everyone's life must be somewhat difficult now, but you must believe that under the leadership of the * * * production party, life will definitely get better and better." Hong Xuezhi is free to visit relatives and friends in his hometown. Going to relatives and friends' houses, life is simple. I especially like to eat small river fish, dried noodles, Ge Fen, bracken and bitter vegetables in my hometown. The guard reminded: "Chief, you must pay attention to eating wild food. I can't explain to the organization that you are in poor health. " Hong Xuezhi laughed when he heard it: "I'm going back to my hometown to visit my relatives. Don't ask me any more with Beijing rules, or the villagers will not dare to recognize me as Hong Xuezhi."

1April, 986, Hong Xuezhi, who was over 70 years old, returned home for the second time to visit relatives. This time, the general returned to his hometown with his wife Zhang Wen and his eldest son Hong Hu. The general and his party came to Shuanghe Town Government. He inquired in detail about the changes in his hometown after the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the Party. The villagers hurried to report the good news to him. After listening to the instructions, Hong Lao said, "You should further emancipate your minds and do a good job in scientific farming. There are many mountains in Dabie Mountain, so it is necessary to plant as many fruit trees as possible, such as chestnut, and develop edible fungi. If you want to raise more livestock and poultry, your life will change faster. " Accompanied by county leaders, Hong Xuezhi also visited the County Revolutionary Museum. He suggested: "The county should build a Red Army Memorial Hall behind the Revolutionary Martyrs Memorial Tower. Because the old Red Army working in other places miss their hometown very much, they all have the desire to return to their roots after a hundred years. At the same time, a general exhibition hall can be set up in front of the museum as a base for educating young people about patriotism and revolutionary traditions. " He also said: "You can solve some of the funds yourself, and we will find ways to help raise some."

The older Hong Xuezhi gets, the more homesick he becomes. Despite the long distance, I went back to my hometown to visit my relatives in May 2002, 1990, 1 1, 1994, 1997. In May 2002, Hong Xuezhi, who was 90 years old, returned to Jinzhai. He said with infinite affection: "people will miss home when they are old." On the way back this time, I saw that the mountains were greener, the water was clearer and the roads were wider. Jinzhai has changed a lot in recent years and achieved great results. I am very happy. " At that time, his hometown Shuanghe Town was building roads, so it was inconvenient to walk. The people accompanying him advised him not to go back. The old general's face was a little disappointed, but he insisted that his three sons must go back to visit his hometown instead of him. When the sons brought back the video taken from their hometown Shuanghe, the old general watched carefully, laughed while watching, and clapped his hands like a happy child. Hong Lao also took relatives from Nanxi and Shuanghe towns to the county guest house, inquired about their family, life and production in detail, asked relatives to take the lead in making a fortune, raised children, set up several tables of banquets for relatives to eat, and insisted that they should not be arranged in the county. Finally, he couldn't resist the enthusiasm of the county. After dinner, he asked the manager to give him the invoice and pay the bill himself.

Hong Xuezhi was proud to be born in Jinzhai, a red land, all his life. In September 2004, the Red Army Square was built in Jinzhai County, and the county leaders wanted to invite him back to have a look. The general said "yes" at once. The health care doctors and secretaries around him disapprove of his long-distance travel because of his physical condition. He had to say, "I'll go back and have a look when the weather is warmer." Unexpectedly, the old general never came back in the end.

People's suffering

Jinzhai county is an old revolutionary base area and a mountainous area, and the people in the old revolutionary base area have made great historical contributions to the revolution. After the founding of New China, President Mao Zedong issued a great call that the Huaihe River must be built. The state has built two large reservoirs in Jinzhai County, Meishan and Xianghongdian, with a storage capacity of 4.8 billion cubic meters. A large number of cash crops, such as grain fields, tea and bamboo, have been flooded, and the people in the old areas have made new contributions and sacrifices for national construction. Hong Xuezhi always took the difficulties of the people in the reservoir area to heart, and with full enthusiasm for the people in the old areas, tried every means to solve the difficulties for the people in his hometown.

During the period of 1974, the drought in Jinzhai County was serious, and many families stopped cooking. There are many pregnant women in this county. In order to feed pregnant women, a relative of a pregnant woman combined with the general wrote to Hong Lao and asked him for help. A month later, the county transferred a truck of dried sweet potatoes. Hong Lao specially entrusted the comrades in the county to tell them that they were very anxious after receiving the letter and sent several trucks of sweet potatoes from the rations of the troops. He asked the county to distribute these dried sweet potatoes to pregnant women in the county to spend the famine year. He also said that the troops were also very nervous and could not think of a better way. He asked the county leaders to apologize to their families on his behalf. That year, pregnant women knew that Hong Lao had saved themselves, and some women left a small bag of dried sweet potatoes wrapped in cloth for their children to remember when they grew up, so as not to forget Hong Lao's saving his life.

There are many patients with endemic goiter and cretinism in Jinzhai county, and the epidemic situation is serious. Hong Xuezhi was very worried after learning that he said to the leaders in his hometown, "No matter how rich the family is, it can't stand the drag of a patient." So, he reported to the Military Commission in time, and after consultation with relevant departments, the army and local medical institutions have lent a helping hand and strongly supported the medical and health work in Jinzhai County. 1In May, 984, the Central Military Commission sent a medical team to Jinzhai to investigate and treat goiter, cretinism and other difficult diseases and endemic frequently-occurring diseases. 1in March, 1985, the General Logistics Department, the Ministry of Civil Affairs, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Health jointly issued the Notice on Organizing Medical Teams to Support Health Construction in Old Areas. Subsequently, the Second Military Medical University, Nanjing General Hospital of Nanjing Military Region and other units sent seven medical teams to Jinzhai County, visited the countryside to treat diseases and prevent diseases, and supported a large number of medicines and equipment. The Veterinary University of the General Logistics Department also sent veterinarians to help the old areas develop animal husbandry and train veterinarians. Nanjing General Hospital of Nanjing Military Region also established the technical secondary class of Jinzhai County Health School in Jinzhai, trained a large number of "medical team members who can't take away" for Jinzhai, and helped to establish a three-level prevention and control training network and an iodized salt monitoring network. During the prevention and treatment of onychomycosis, Hong Xuezhi and local leading comrades visited Jinzhai for inspection and guidance. In his hometown of Shuanghe, the general personally distributed medicines to villagers to publicize the importance of preventing and treating endemic goiter. At the end of 1988, Jinzhai County passed the acceptance of national endemic diseases, and the prevalence rate of endemic goiter ranged from 1985 to 17. 4% fell below 2%, and other diseases were effectively controlled, and it was rated as an advanced county in the prevention and control of endemic diseases in China.

In order to help the needy people in Jinzhai, from 1979 to 1987, Hong Xuezhi organized and mobilized troops to donate more than 240,000 quilts. 199 1 donated 74,000 pieces of cotton-padded clothes, which solved the winter problem of many people. In order to help Jinzhai develop the transportation industry, 1984, Hong Xuezhi sent more than 20 military trucks left over from the PLA to Jinzhai. In order to help more people in the old liberated areas get rid of poverty and become rich as soon as possible, Hong Xuezhi also presided over the General Logistics Department to draft a document and submitted it to the Military Commission, suggesting that the whole army take out 2,000 retired vehicles to support 100 old liberated areas. 1985 Around the National Day, there were 25 more "liberation" cars in Jinzhai County. On this basis, the relevant departments in charge of transportation at that time immediately established the "Shuang Fu" automobile transportation company, which was also the first automobile transportation company in Jinzhai County.

Hometown construction

Hong Xuezhi has always been very concerned about the economic construction and development of Jinzhai. Over the years, he has used his influence to report to the central leadership, coordinated with relevant departments, and contacted patriots in Hong Kong and Macao, which has received attention and support from many parties.

Hong Xuezhi's concern for his hometown economy is by no means limited to some empty "instructions". His concern is very specific and useful. He told comrades in Jinzhai County many times that in mountainous areas like Dabie Mountain, farmers only grow grain and will never get rich. Want a variety of cash crops suitable for mountainous areas, such as chestnuts, tea, wild vegetables, especially chestnuts. Since 1983, chestnut has been widely planted in Jinzhai County. After years of planting, the production of chestnut characteristic industry in Jinzhai County has reached a new level every year. 1990101October 30th, Hong Xuezhi wrote an inscription for Jinzhai: "Develop chestnut, make a big difference!" Chestnut has become an important pillar industry of agricultural industrialization in Jinzhai, and the output of chestnut in Jinzhai County has been in the forefront of the country, becoming a veritable "chestnut county".

Hong Xuezhi is concerned about the construction of water conservancy and transportation infrastructure in his hometown. During the period of 1997, the preliminary design of Ningxi Railway crossed the Dabie Mountains in Yuexi. After the hometown people learned the news, the leaders of Lu 'an went to Beijing to find Hong Lao, hoping to write a letter to Zhu Rongji, then Premier of the State Council, in the name of Hong Lao, and strive for the Ningxi Railway to pass through Lu 'an. Lao Hong said, "Well, Sun Yat-sen had the idea of building a railway in Dabie Mountain in his early years. Lu 'an should have been connected to the railway a long time ago! "Immediately agreed to write. Half a month later, the approval of the relevant parties to change the original design line came down, and Lu' an was connected to the railway for the first time in history. Also with the care and support of General Hong Xuezhi, Jinzhai County has successively built Shuanghe-Tiechong Highway and Huangfan-Changlingguan War Preparation Highway. In 2003, the main responsible comrades of the county party committee and government went to Dongguan to celebrate his old man's birthday. When talking about the people in his hometown expecting the Hefei-Wuhan Railway Passenger Dedicated Line to pass through Jinzhai, the old general immediately wrote a letter to the leading comrades in the State Council, expressing the urgency of the people in his hometown. Nowadays, the further development of Lu 'an Railway Station has made an indelible contribution to the economic construction of my hometown.

General Hong Xuezhi has always been concerned about education in his hometown. 1997 in may, Hong Xuezhi actively coordinated after seeing the poor teaching conditions in his hometown Shuanghe vocational college. Under his kind care, Mr. Gao Jingde, member of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and chairman and president of the board of directors of Sun Henderson International (Group) Co., Ltd., donated 500,000 yuan, the provincial government allocated 200,000 yuan, and the local government and all walks of life raised 350,000 yuan to build a laboratory, computer room and library for Shuanghe Vocational College. The whole army township is the place where Hong Lao fought, and it is also the battlefield of the three-year guerrilla war of the Red 28th Army. In the 1990s, the primary and secondary schools in the township were still dangerous buildings with earthen walls and tiled roofs. Under the contact of the old general, Zhang Xunxian, a member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and chairman of Hongkong Shi Tian Company, donated 3.5 million yuan to build Xunxian Middle School and Xunxian Primary School in the towns and villages of the whole army, so that nearly 1,000 teachers and students can explore knowledge in the garden-like campus from now on. 1985 On April 29th, the general offices of the General Office of the Central Committee of the CPC, the State Council and the Central Military Commission jointly issued a document (office word 1985 139.
