Folklore (2) The Story of "Pulling Well"

Liu Xiu was chased by follwed and rode a mule running all the way to the Ten Mausoleums in the southeast of Xiping. Speaking of Shiling, I have to say that there is a mausoleum in the territory that runs southeast and northwest. Lu Ruins (also known as Xiling Pavilion) are marked in the Shuijing Map and Shuijing Annotation in the middle section of the mausoleum. Li Daoyuan said in "Notes on Water Classics": "Xiling leveled barbarians, so it was called Xiping". Therefore, Xiping County was originally called Xiling County, which is why it came from Ling Gang. Li Daoyuan also said in the Water Classic Note: "County, so ginkgo is also." This proves that "Lu Xu", also known as "Xiling Pavilion" and "White Pavilion", was once the seat of Baiguo Ancient City and Xiping County Administration. Before it's late, at the end of noon, Liu Xiu ran to the north of Ling Gang, the ten tombs. The weather in Ling Gang is very hot, and people and mules are sore and thirsty. Liu Xiu rode a mule, thinking. He stopped to find some water to drink and have a rest. He looked around for water. Suddenly, Liu Xiu found a small village at the foot of the mountain ahead. He rode a mule and found a big tree outside the village ditch. There seems to be a well beside the tree. He was overjoyed and drove the mule. Sure enough, there was a well, so he tied the mule to a tree and went to the well to drink water. He went to the well and saw that the water surface was more than ten feet away from the wellhead. There were no ropes and buckets for entering the well, and there was no water by the pool. Go to the village to find water to drink, for fear of revealing your identity and being caught by pursuers.

He looked at the water in the well and could do nothing. At this time, five miles away from the northwest, the dust was rolling, and people called Ma Si, as if to kill in pursuit. Liu Xiu was thirsty and walked around the well, sighing eagerly. He couldn't help standing on the slate by the well and sighing at the sky: "God! Oh, my god If you have eyes, let the water flow out of the well, so that both the victim and the mule can drink water! " Inadvertently raised his hands and made a look of knocking on the well. When he turned away in despair, he suddenly felt cold under his feet. Looking down, a cool water was flowing under his feet. He turned around and saw a strange scene. The clear water flowing from his feet came from the inclined wellhead. Really: "Wandering in a foreign land, suffering everywhere, thirsty for water, the gods gave me a spring." Don't mention Liu Xiu's happiness at that time. He immediately bent down to have a good drink, and then he let the mule drink for a while. Thirsty Liu Xiu drank cool well water, was full of energy, and strutted away. ...

Later, people changed the decoration in the north of the Ten Tombs to a dumping well, which has been called until now. Cungou well, also known as Peninsula well, has clear water quality. In 1960s, there were three horseshoe prints of Liu Xiu at the wellhead.
