There are six kinds of qi in TCM, and the material basis of the correspondence between heaven and man lies in the harmony between heaven and man.

Qi in traditional Chinese medicine has two meanings in summary: first, it refers to subtle substances that constitute the human body and maintain human activities, such as the qi of water valleys and the qi of breathing; Second, it refers to the physiological functions of zang-fu organs, such as qi of zang-fu organs and qi of meridians. But they are interrelated, the former is the material basis of the latter, and the latter is the functional expression of the former.

in traditional Chinese medicine, qi is divided into six categories. The first kind of qi is called primordial qi, which is the most important, the motive force of life, the origin and essence of life, also known as "kidney qi" and "abdomen qi". Wang Ji, a doctor in Xin 'an, said that "regulating qi and blood, consolidating the foundation and cultivating yuan" formed the "school of consolidating the foundation and cultivating yuan".

the second kind of qi is called zong qi, which is partial to the acquired qi, and the acquired qi is the gas that people naturally breathe.

the third type of qi is ying qi, which runs in blood vessels and plays a role in nourishing and transforming blood, so it is called ying qi.

the fourth kind of qi is called Wei qi, which runs outside blood vessels and plays a role in protecting skin and body, so it is called Wei qi.

The fifth category is the qi of the viscera. In Chinese medicine, the five zang-fu organs are not just five organs, but five functional systems and five energy systems, that is, five qi.

the sixth category is qi of meridians, and meridians are channels of qi. Traditional Chinese medicine explains human life and health with the theory of gasification. First, Chinese medicine uses qi to explain the origin and generation of human life, which is the basic form of life.

Su Wen Bao Ming Quan Xing Lun says: "Man is born with the spirit of heaven and earth, and he can achieve it in four seasons." "Life is born in the earth, life hangs in the sky, heaven and earth are in harmony, and life is like a man." "Lingshu Tiannian" said: "The beginning of human life ... is based on the mother and the father." "Ling Shu Jue Qi" says: "The two gods (essence) compete with each other and form together, and they are often born first, which is called essence." The essence of parents is the innate material basis of human life, which is called innate essence; People's growth and development depends on Shui Gu's subtlety and atmosphere, which is called acquired essence. "Su Wen's Six Sections on Hidden Images" says: "Heaven eats people with five qi, while earth eats people with no taste. Five qi enters the nose, hidden in the heart and lungs, and five flavors enter the mouth, hidden in the stomach. "

Second, TCM uses Qi to explain people's illness and death. "Su Wen Ju Pain Theory" says: "All diseases are born of qi." Danxiweng said: "All diseases are born of qi, and qi and blood are in harmony, and all diseases are not born." Qi can be divided into healthy qi and evil qi. Healthy qi gives birth to and nurtures people, while evil qi can harm people. There are many manifestations of qi disorder, such as qi stagnation, qi stagnation, qi stagnation, qi stagnation, qi collection, gas discharge, gas disorder, gas consumption, gas knot, etc., which will produce different diseases. Chinese medicine recognizes that human body is "proud of qi and sick of it". Li Dongyuan thought: "The qi of the spleen and stomach hurts, but the vitality can't be filled, and the diseases are caused by it."

Zhuangzi's Journey to the North says, "When people are born, qi gathers. Gather for a living, and disperse for death. " "On Balance and Death" said: "The qi of Yin and Yang is condensed to be human; At the end of the year, death is still angry. " The process of human life and death is also the process of gathering and dispersing qi. Thirdly, Chinese medicine uses the theory of gasification to describe the changing process of human life activities. Neijing attributed human life activities to the rise, fall, exit and entrance of qi. Su Wen Liu Wei Zhi Da Lun holds that there are four forms of gasification: "The rise and fall of qi, the more use of heaven and earth ... has risen and fallen, and the person who falls is heaven;" What has fallen has risen, and what has risen is the ground. The weather drops and the air flows to the ground; The earth's air rises, and the air rises in the sky. Therefore, the high and low are called, and the ups and downs are related to each other. " It is believed that the movement of qi is universal.

In Su Wen Liu Wei Zhi Da Lun, it is said: "You can go in and out by lifting, and there is no device." Qi has different manifestations in different zang-fu organs. Airflow spreads all over the body, and when it reaches the viscera, it is called the qi of viscera, when it reaches the inside and outside of blood vessels, it is called the qi of ying Wei, and when it reaches the meridians, it is called the qi of meridians. The ancients believed that the yang outside was injected into the yin; Yin, inside, flows out. "yang enters yin, and yin is full." This kind of yin and yang, everything. Yin and Yang, one coming out and one entering, are relatively balanced, which is called "constant". Once out of balance, it shows one of the following four "extraordinary" states: excess of yin, excess of yang, deficiency of yin and deficiency of yang. There is only one "normal" state of yin-yang balance, while there are four "abnormal" states of yin-yang imbalance. Fourth, Chinese medicine believes that qi is the intermediary of the induction of everything in heaven and earth.

Lingshu Suilu says that "man is related to heaven and earth, and also corresponds to the sun and moon", and the influence of the sun and moon, day and night, and seasonal climate changes on human physiology and pathogenesis is all with the help of qi. Man-made heaven and earth have a basic substance-Qi. "Su Wen Bao Ming Quan Xing Lun" said: "My wife was born in the earth, and her life hangs in the sky. Heaven and earth are in harmony, and her life is called human. People can respond to the four seasons, heaven and earth are their parents, and those who know everything are called the sons of heaven. " Therefore, everything in the universe is unified in Qi, and the corresponding material basis of heaven and man lies in the harmony between heaven and man.
