Mengding tea is a traditional green tea of Han nationality, which is produced in Mengding Mountain, Mingshan District, Ya 'an City, Sichuan Province. The annual average temperature in the producing area is 14.5℃, and the annual precipitation is 2000 ~ 2200mm. It often rains and is foggy in Mao Mao. Processing technology of Mengding tea;
Excellent Mengding yellow tea is only picked once a year, and there are thirteen processes from picking to making the finished product.
Every year in Tomb-Sweeping Day, tea-picking girls either walk through the tea forest or carry tea blue on their backs and start picking new tea. The selection criteria are very strict. Rain and dew buds are not picked, and pests and diseases are not picked. The length of bud leaves is between 1.5~2 cm, and those that are not enough or exceed the length are not picked. Every bud head must be pinched by the tea-picking girl with her forefinger and thumb, broken off from the tea tree, and never pinched with her nails. The single bud or one bud and one leaf picked in this way is in the initial stage, and there are about 40,000 to 55,000 leaves per catty of finished tea.
After picking, each box of Mengding yellow tea should go through the following technological processes: spreading fresh leaves → deactivating enzymes → spreading cold → primary rolling → frying (baking) the second green → spreading cold → secondary rolling → drying (frying or baking) → setting and refining → drying → sorting → blending → baking fragrance → quantitative packaging and warehousing.
This well-made Mengshan Imperial Tea has formed its own unique style, including flat tea, flat yellow-bright tea, tight, thin and curly tea, and tight, thin, round, straight and elegant needle tea, which is both a tea and a pleasing work of art.
