Daxinganling is the western part of Daxinganling, located in the northeast of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and the northwest of Heilongjiang Province. It is the largest and well-preserved virgin forest in China, and the watershed between Inner Mongolia Plateau and Songliao Plain.

Daxinganling starts from the Heilongjiang River bank in Mohe City, Heilongjiang Province in the north and reaches the upper reaches of the Xilamulun River in the north of Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in the south, with a northeast-southwest trend. The geographical coordinates are 43 N to 53 30' N,117 20' e to 126 E, with a total length of 1400 kilometers.

The total area is 327,200 square kilometers (including about 240,000 square kilometers in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and 84,800 square kilometers in Heilongjiang Province). Daxinganling is one of the important forestry bases in China, with dense virgin forests. The main tree species are Larix gmelinii and Pinus sylvestris var.mongolica.. Quercus mongolica, Picea koraiensis, Betula platyphylla, Quercus mongolica and Populus davidii.

General situation of mountain system:

Daxinganling, known as Xianbei Mountain in ancient times, is one of the birthplaces of ancient civilization in China. As early as the Paleolithic Age, people lived here. Xing 'an in Daxinganling is a Manchu language, which means "extremely cold place", so it is named because of the cold climate. Daxinganling is located in the northeast of China, which mainly spans Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region (Hulunbeier, Xing 'an League, Tongliao and Chifeng).

Heilongjiang Province (Daxinganling region) has two provincial administrative regions and five prefecture-level administrative regions. It starts from the south bank of the northern main stream of Mohe City in Daxinganling area of Heilongjiang Province in the northeast and ends in the upper reaches of the Xilamulun River in the northern part of Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in the southwest, with the geographical coordinates of 43 N to 53 30' N,117 20' E to126 E.

The total length is 1400 km, the average width is about 200 km, the altitude is11400 m, and the total area is 327,200 square kilometers (including about 240,000 square kilometers in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and 84,800 square kilometers in Heilongjiang Province). Huanggang Liang, the highest peak, is 2029 meters above sea level (the highest peak is Huda Baishan, the main peak of Ilhuli Mountain, with an altitude of 1528.7 meters).
