Whether to turn on double flashes or fog lights in rainy and foggy weather!

Should I turn on double flashes or fog lights in rainy and foggy weather?

Be careful when driving in rainy and foggy days! Pay attention to turn on the low beam lights and position lights, and turn on the front and rear fog lights in case of emergency rain. But have you noticed that when this happens, some vehicles will immediately turn on the double flashing lights instead of other lights. Is this the right thing to do?

1. The hazard warning flash is used for reminding.

Rainstorms will suddenly come in spring and summer, especially when crossing expressway. In case of emergency, the vision is not good. In order to avoid accidents, remind the rear vehicles of the danger and keep the distance, riders must turn on the "double flashing".

In fact, double flashing should be called danger warning flashing, which is a kind of signal light to remind other vehicles and pedestrians that something special has happened in this car.

Article 81 of China's "Regulations on the Implementation of Road Traffic Safety" stipulates that in extreme weather with visibility below 100 meters, those who fail to turn on the double flashing lights according to the regulations may face a penalty of 6 points; Vehicles with steering priority should remember to switch back to double flashing lights after using turn signals.

In this way, in extreme weather conditions, it is not wrong to turn on the hazard warning flash to remind other vehicles.

2. Fog lamps are used for lighting and warning.

Automobile fog lamps are installed at the front and rear of the automobile, which are used to illuminate the road and safety warning when driving in rainy and foggy weather, and improve the visibility of drivers and surrounding traffic participants. Usually, the rear fog lamp is a red signal lamp with higher luminous intensity than the tail lamp, which can provide warning in fog, rain or dusty environment with low visibility for other road traffic participants to find.

The front fog lamp is lower than the headlights. It is yellow and has strong penetration. It is used to provide lighting and improve visibility when driving in rainy and foggy weather.

3. Danger warning flash cannot replace fog lights.

The light used in the hazard warning flash is our turn signal, which has limited penetration and low brightness and cannot provide lighting vision in the environment with low visibility. Even the low beam lamp, its light transmission ability is incomparable with fog lamp.

Therefore, in extreme weather conditions, riders can turn on the hazard warning flash as appropriate, but they must turn on the fog lights. According to Article 81 of the Regulations for the Implementation of the Traffic Safety Law of China, "When a motor vehicle runs on the expressway, it shall comply with the following provisions in case of low visibility meteorological conditions such as fog, rain, snow, dust and hail:

(1). When the visibility is less than 200m, turn on the fog lights, low beam lights, position lights and front and rear position lights, the speed shall not exceed 60km per hour, and keep a distance of100m or more from vehicles in the same lane;

(2) When the visibility is less than 100 meters, turn on fog lights, low beam lights, position lights, front and rear position lights and hazard warning flashlights, the speed shall not exceed 40 kilometers per hour, and keep a distance of more than 50 meters from the vehicle in front of the same lane;

(3) When the visibility is less than 50m, turn on fog lights, low beam lights, position lights, front and rear position lights and hazard warning flashlights, and the speed shall not exceed 20km per hour, and leave expressway from the nearest exit as soon as possible. "

Do you know how to turn on the front fog lights and the rear fog lights of the vehicle you are driving?

Different brands of vehicles have different lighting positions, and the danger warning flash on the console is more conspicuous, which may be the reason why drivers turn on the low beam and danger flash at the first time when visibility is low.

I suggest you get familiar with the lighting system control of this car at ordinary times, so as to avoid being in a hurry and not knowing where to start. Blindly turn on the control switch and keep your attention in front of your field of vision.

5. Can't turn on the high beam

Some people may think that visibility is low, and turning on the high beam can make the light brighter and illuminate a longer distance.

But in fact, the water droplets and particles suspended in the rain fog will diffract the light emitted by the high beam, which will only make the rain fog brighter, and will not penetrate the rain fog to illuminate the road ahead, and may also cause interference to vehicles on other roads. So in this case, you can't turn on the high beam.

In case of extreme weather with low visibility, turn on the low beam and fog lights at the first time, turn on the position lights and rear fog lights, and then turn on the double flashing lights when necessary.

No matter in expressway or on ordinary highways, you should slow down to ensure driving safety and avoid overtaking and changing lanes at will.

Travel safely and go home safely.
