In the process of crossing, Zhang Jian overcame difficulties and worked hard to set a world record for the longest distance for men to cross the English Channel, and was also the only successful male athlete in that crossing.

After the event, Jia Qinglin, Liu Qi, Li Zhijian and Yu Junbo, then leaders of Beijing and the State Sports General Administration, met Zhang Jian, and Jia Qinglin put the "Beijing May 4th Youth Medal" awarded by the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League on Zhang Jian's chest.

At the event, Lushunkou District of Dalian and Penglai City of Shandong Province were awarded the title of "honorary citizens" by Zhang Jian respectively. Under the guidance of Duncan, Secretary-General of the British Channel Swimming Association, Zhang Jian overcame many unfavorable factors such as undercurrent, low temperature and biological troubles, broke through three major difficulties: rampant ships, bad weather and sudden hurricane, and successfully reached the French coast.

Since 1875 conquered the English Channel for the first time, more than 800 people from all over the world have been included in the list of successful swimmers, and Zhang Jian has finally filled the gap that there are no China people on this list, and has also shown the elegance of China people to the whole world. On August 28th, 200 1 year, Zhang Jian successfully entered the water from Xiazi Peak in China, northeast of Tianchi Lake in Changbai Mountain. He swam straight to the cliff on the western slope of Changbai Mountain along the Chinese side of Tianchi Lake, which is 200 meters parallel to the water boundary between China and North Korea. It lasted 1 hour for 5 minutes and crossed the famous Tianchi Lake in Changbai Mountain, China, with a crossing distance of 3.5 kilometers, becoming the first person to cross Tianchi Lake.

Tianchi in Changbai Mountain has a high altitude, and the water temperature in Tianchi is only 0.7 degrees Celsius to 1 1 degrees Celsius all the year round. It took him 8 hours and 52 minutes to swim from Erlangjian on the south bank of Qinghai Lake to Shadao on the north bank, crossing Qinghai Lake, the largest inland saltwater lake in China, with a crossing distance of 26.2 kilometers and a speed of 2.6 to 3.2 1 km.

This time, Zhang Jian broke two Guinness records, the highest altitude and the strongest ultraviolet radiation. The entourage of the Guinness World Records Reporting Center awarded Zhang Jian two certificates, namely, "the crossing with the highest altitude" and "the crossing with the strongest ultraviolet radiation". On April 26th and 27th, 2006, Zhang Jian's crossing team successfully crossed the Qingjiang River with a length of 150km in Changyang County, Hubei Province for 22 consecutive hours, setting a record for the longest relay race in China. In 2007, 2008 and 2009, the "Zhang Jian Crossing Team Challenge of China Changyang Zongdu Qingjiang Gallery" was held in Changyang for four consecutive years.

On the afternoon of April 27th, 2007, the "Fool's Island Cup" 2007 China Changyang-Zhangjian Crossing Team Qingjiang Gallery Challenge ended in Changyang Qingjiang Fool's Island after two days of fierce competition, and Beijing Sport University Zhangjian Crossing Team won the championship.

On April 26th, 2008, more than 400 athletes from 25 national teams visited Qingjiang Gallery, which kicked off the crossing festival of China Changyang Qingjiang Gallery and the third Zhang Jian crossing team challenge. Guo Youming, secretary of Yichang Municipal Party Committee, and Li Lecheng, deputy secretary of Yichang Municipal Party Committee and mayor, specially met with Zhang Jian and his party before the event, hoping to make Qingjiang Gallery Challenge a world-famous brand event. In 2009, the 4th China Changyang Qingjiang Gallery Crossing Relay Challenge was held in Qingjiang waters of Changyang Tujia Autonomous County, Hubei Province on June 6th. There are as many as 27 teams participating in this year, including active national swimmers. The level and level of the competition have been greatly improved, attracting more than 100 journalists from all over the country to report on the competition. On June 5-6, Changyang Tujia Cultural Tourism Festival will be held simultaneously with this relay crossing challenge. During the competition, the first national swimming posture examination base in open waters-"China Crossing Posture Tongduan Base" will also be officially unveiled at Qingyang Qingjiang Gallery.

In 2006, only Zhang Jian crossed the team to participate in the competition. It has also successfully achieved the perfect connection between boutique sports events and local tourism resources. At the most beautiful moment of Qingjiang River every year, a large number of tourists flock to Changyang. According to statistics, the number of tourists in Changyang Scenic Area has far exceeded that in Three Gorges Scenic Area.

The first national swimming posture examination base in open waters-"China swimming posture pass base" was officially unveiled in Qingyang Qingjiang Gallery. On July 29th, 2006, Zhang Jian successfully swam across Daihai.

Daihai Lake is the largest inland lake in central Inner Mongolia, with the longest point from north to south10km, the widest point from east to west 35km and the water area160km2. At about 8: 30 am on July 29, Zhang Jian crossed the team to the power plant dock on the south bank of Daihai. Wei Gang, 23, accompanied Zhang the whole time. Zhang Jian, head coach of "Beijing Youth Zhang Jian Crossing Team", said: "It is gratifying that I used to swim alone, and now my students have finally successfully completed the crossing.

This crossing is the first time that China people have appeared in the strait in the southern hemisphere, and it is also the first time that they have appeared in the form of a "crossing team". It is also a part of the commemoration of the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and New Zealand, and has received strong support from relevant departments of China and New Zealand. The incident caused great repercussions in New Zealand, and New Zealand national television 1 made a special report. Zhang Jian didn't take part in the whole swimming crossing this time. The other four members are Wen Wei, Zheng Bo, Wu Yang and Jason. In strict accordance with the current international open water swimming rules, they have withstood the challenges of long swimming distance, high light intensity, low water temperature and low buoyancy, and swam the whole distance alone without foreign aid.

Zhanghe River in Jingmen, Hubei:

On the morning of August 2, 2008, Zhang Jian led Zhang Jian's team to challenge Zhanghe Reservoir, one of the eight major reservoirs in China, with a total mileage of 10 km. Xingkai Lake in Mishan, Heilongjiang:

Kanas Lake in Xinjiang:

The Swimming Management Center of the State General Administration of Sport inspected this activity and declared the result valid.

Ge Yu was launched at 9: 05 am on September 8 from the "Yuxiakou" pier in Qingjiang, Changyang, Hubei Province, and ended the challenge after surpassing the record of 790 meters of continuous swimming in Qingjiang Gallery.
