Typhoon Hagupit struck, followed by heavy rain. What should we pay attention to in accident-prone weather?

Typhoon Hagupit formed in the Philippines on July 3rd 1 day, and after being named in August1day, it passed through Yaeyama Islands, northern Bao Dao, east China coast and Korean Peninsula. After entering the Sea of Japan and transforming into an extratropical cyclone, it dissipated on August 14.

"Hagupit", which means whipping, was named by the Philippine meteorological department and was rated as a strong tropical storm. The typhoon caused huge property losses and casualties (17 death 1 injury).

Let's understand what a typhoon is and its formation mechanism.

Typhoon refers to a tropical cyclone on the sea surface with a temperature above 26℃. According to the definition of the World Meteorological Organization, tropical cyclones with sustained wind speeds of 12 to 13 are called typhoons or hurricanes. Typhoons are divided into six grades according to their intensity, namely, tropical depression, tropical storm, strong tropical storm, typhoon, strong typhoon and super typhoon.

When the tropical sea surface temperature exceeds 26 degrees Celsius, a large amount of seawater will be evaporated into the air, forming a low pressure center. With the change of air pressure and the movement of the earth itself, the inflow of air also rotates, forming a counterclockwise air vortex, which is a tropical cyclone. If the temperature does not drop, the cyclone will get stronger and stronger, and then a typhoon will form.

Whether at home or outdoors, when a typhoon comes, we should pay attention to several points.

Don't go near billboards, trees, temporary structures and other objects that are easily blown by the wind, and don't hide under them. The typhoon is powerful and the wind speed is extremely fast. Usually, we think that things that are very solid are easy to be blown down, and these objects are extremely unsafe. Outdoor workers should also immediately flee to indoor safety. When the typhoon comes, it will also bring lightning, thunder and downpour, and we should also be prepared for lightning protection. When hiding indoors, stay away from the window to avoid being pricked by glass sheets. The typhoon is powerful enough to break the glass easily. Try not to turn on TV, computer and other electronic products when it thunders and lightning, and never use mobile phones when it thunders and lightning. After water enters the house, be sure to turn off the switch of the main power supply immediately to avoid electric shock. Try not to go out after receiving the typhoon warning. If you must go out, don't ride a bike. Just choose public transportation. If you are walking, try not to take an umbrella, just wear a raincoat. When walking on the road, you should pay more attention to the surrounding environment and avoid the danger zone in advance. Don't shelter from the wind and rain under some empty buildings outdoors. This is a very dangerous thing. Because the typhoon is too severe, there are some objects floating in the air, and there are some sharp things in these objects. If you are hit and injured, the consequences will be unimaginable. It is the best policy to find indoor places such as shopping malls to shelter from the wind and rain. In case it is too late, hide in the public toilet. Pay great attention to driving in typhoon weather, keep a wide field of vision, turn on all the lights on the car, drive slowly and keep a certain distance from other vehicles. In fact, try not to drive again in typhoon weather. If you can, you should enter the parking lot immediately. If not, find a high place to stop to avoid being flooded.
