As wide and thin as lightning?

1. Generally speaking, the narrowest lightning is only 1 cm, and the coarsest lightning may be "spherical lightning" with a diameter of about 15 to 40 cm. Therefore, lightning is almost like a very slender and flexible water pipe.

2. Lightning lava is a natural long glass tube, and the intensity of different lightning energy is different, but the thickness of lightning can be estimated. The diameter of lightning lava is about 1cm, and the diameter of the thickest current channel will not exceed 20cm.

3. The reason why you can see the lightning as thick as a pencil at a distance is because the dark sky is full of water vapor and lightning illuminates the surrounding space. Coupled with the phenomenon of visual persistence, it gives people the illusion that the diameter of lightning is very large. So, although it looks four meters wide, lightning is just puffy.

Although lightning is very thin, it can be extremely long. The World Meteorological Organization once listed "the longest lightning in history" as an extreme weather record. During the rainstorm in Oklahoma, USA, there were 200 miles (about 32 1.86 km) of lightning. Therefore, lightning is almost like an extremely slender and flexible water pipe.
