A strange and mysterious geological wonder, quietly hidden in a place covered with loess, is little known; It is rarely mentioned in various travel guides. However, it is a very popular outdoor adventure attraction in Shaanxi in recent years, attracting countless photographers. It is the Ganquan Yucha Grand Canyon in Yan 'an!

Yucha Grand Canyon is located in Yucha Village, Xiasiwan Town, 56 kilometers northwest of Ganquan County, Yan 'an, also known as Ganquan Grand Canyon. Although the tourist facilities here are still improving and the landscape is basically in the original state, when I first arrived here, I had to be impressed by the magic of nature when I saw this canyon with uneven walls and smooth lines.

According to scientific investigation, a strong earthquake happened here hundreds of millions of years ago, which split one of the Huangtu Mountain into big cracks. After tens of thousands of years of rain erosion and wind erosion, such a unique grand canyon has gradually formed.

Yucha Grand Canyon shows visitors the unique landforms carved by wind, water and time after tens of thousands of years. The gorge wall is concave and convex, the lines are beautiful and smooth, and everything seems so simple, harmonious and natural. It is said to be completely comparable to the Antelope Valley in Arizona, USA.

Looking at the carved stone wall will remind people that although water is invisible, it will always leave traces where it flows; Although light is difficult to capture, no matter where it shines, there will always be its bright and colorful images.

Yucha Grand Canyon is located within a range of more than ten kilometers around Yucha Village in Xiasiwan Town. It is the collective name of several canyons in Yucha Village, and the locals call it Gou. At present, the main canyons for tourists to visit here are birch ditch, peony ditch, Yixiantian, Longbagou, Huabao ditch and Fenghuang ditch.

When you walk into every canyon, whether looking down or up, or looking back and forth, when the sun shines in, the lines and colors are changing with magical charm. The Grand Canyon under the light is magical and dreamy. Being in it, it seems to be traveling through the tunnel of time, and the veins on the rock wall flow like water and dance like flames.

A brief introduction to a scenic spot

Xiasiwan Town is the tourist base camp of Yucha Grand Canyon, where tourists usually choose to eat and live. Zhangjiagou Village is about 4 kilometers away from Xiasiwan Town. It was the first village to enter Yucha Grand Canyon. The scenic spot management office, ticket office and parking lot are all in this village. Visitors, whether by car or by car, must change to the car ferry here to visit the canyon.

Yucha used to be a township, but later it was merged into Xiasiwan Town, so Yucha Village has many villagers' groups under its jurisdiction, and the Grand Canyon is distributed in different villagers' groups in Yucha Village. At present, there are mainly birch ditch, peony ditch, Yixiantian, Longbagou, Huabaogou and Fenghuang ditch. Among them, Huashugou and Longbagou have accumulated water.

The width of each ditch is different. It is feasible for several people to walk side by side, and only one person can pass through the narrow ditch. The landscape of each ditch has its own characteristics, among which Huashugou and Longbagou have the most ornamental value, and Huashugou is the most beautiful. Other ditches depend on your travel time.

Birch ditch: Birch ditch is only 800 meters long, but it is the most beautiful of the five ditches. If time is limited, it is recommended to visit Baihuagou. The stones on both sides are concave and convex, and under the irradiation of sunlight, all kinds of strange landscapes change. Most of the most wonderful photos of Yucha landform come from here.

The entrance and exit of Huashugou is on one side, so there is no need to go back for sightseeing. There is water in the ditch, sometimes spacious and sometimes narrow, and the narrowest part is only 20 cm.

Mudan ditch and first sight: Mudan ditch is named after the wild purple peony growing around it. Peony ditch is the shortest, looking up at the "stone flower cave" above, as if a flower is flowing overhead. The first thing I saw was face to face with Mudan ditch, which was a short journey and needed to go back the same way.

Longbagou: It's about 2,500 meters long. It's the narrowest and most difficult ditch in Yucha Grand Canyon, but it's definitely worth your visit. The ditch is long, narrow and deep, and terraces are hung on the wall. Many places have to walk sideways, and most of the road sections at the bottom of the ditch have silt and pools, which makes it difficult to walk.

It is easier to walk 800 meters in front of Longbagou. If it's just for taking pictures, it's recommended to walk the first third. People who are a little fatter at the narrowest part of Longbagou may find it difficult to pass, and the second half of the rocks on both sides of Longbagou are covered with moss, which not only requires good physical strength to walk the whole distance, but also makes them covered in mud.

Huabao Tea: The total length is about 200 meters. The dry ditch and the ditch bottom covered by dead leaves are relatively flat, with an average width of about 2-3 meters, which is convenient for walking. Flower bud tea, like peony ditch and first-line sky, has a relatively average landscape.

Two travel tips

1. Transportation: Yan 'an to Yucha Grand Canyon Tourist Center (Zhangjiagou Village) takes nearly 2 hours by car. The road is in good condition, don't worry about anything. There is no problem with the 50-seat tourist bus going to the scenic spot. After arriving at the scenic spot, transfer to the Beijing suburb bus.

This scenic spot is very sensitive to the weather. On a sunny day, you must shoot the effect of light and shadow flow at11-kloc-0/5. At this time, the light just entered the slit, and the colorful Danxia was spectacular, and the visual impact was very strong!

3. Yucha Grand Canyon is a scenic spot that depends on the weather to eat and watch the weather. Be sure to watch the weather forecast before entering the ditch, and you can walk around safely when the weather is good. Be careful if it's cloudy, it's easy to accumulate water at the bottom of the ditch when it rains. For safety reasons, the scenic spot will be closed in rainy days.

4. Wear walking shoes, which are non-slip and hard enough to protect your feet. Travelling shoes and sports shoes are easy to slip. When crossing the narrow ditch bottom, put on gloves and hold the wall with your hands. Your cold hands will tell you how important it is to protect your hands when crawling. Better bring a trekking stick. If you encounter stagnant water in the wetland, you can lean on it and explore the depth of stagnant water.

5, dress precautions: wear sweatpants or outdoor pants, because jeans will make your movements slightly limited. It's cold in the ditch. Even in summer, people who are weak must bring an extra long-sleeved coat.

6. After entering Yucha Village, the cell phone signal is not good, and sometimes even the ground and the bottom of the ditch can't be contacted. So it's best to follow others after going down the ditch, not to act alone.

7. As the scenic spot is still under development, some ditches may be temporarily closed for sightseeing, so you can call the scenic spot first and then visit it.

8. Tickets are free, and everyone must buy a round-trip bus for 70 yuan. The roads in the scenic spot are now well maintained. It takes 25-30 minutes to get to Huashugou 18 km by car ferry from the tourist center of the scenic spot. It's cold in the ditch. Be sure to bring a coat.

9. Because noon is the best shooting time, lunch can only be solved in the Ganquan Grand Canyon, with enough dry food and drinking water, and the Loess Plateau is short of water; Bring your own lunch (Mizoguchi also sells instant noodles and boiled eggs).
