How to choose the location of beekeeping farm?

Beekeeping places usually refer to the fixed places of professional bee farms (farm headquarters) and temporary places when changing feeds.

(1) Fixed site A fixed beekeeping site requires strict conditions, such as abundant honey powder sources, convenient transportation, water and electricity supply, and suitable microclimate. These situations require on-the-spot investigation, and some bees will be arranged to be kept in pre-selected places for one or two years, and then determined after actual data are obtained. Four taboos for building a bee farm: First, the bee farm should not be built near railways, industrial and mining (chemical plants, pesticide plant, sugar factories, preserved fruit factories, quarries, etc.). ) and pasture barns to prevent bees from being shaken, disturbed or poisoned; Second, don't build it on the top of the mountain in the alpine region, in the canyon where strong airflow is easy to occur, or in the low-lying area where water is easy to accumulate, so as to avoid the interference of cold wind and moisture; Third, it is not advisable to build bee farms in reservoirs and lakes with vast waters and facing honey sources across the river, so as to avoid bees being blown into the water by strong winds, and the queen bee is also prone to drowning when mating; The fourth is to blindly establish a fixed bee farm without investigation and test.

(2) The principle of temporary site selection is basically the same as that of fixed site selection, with emphasis on production purposes and seasonal needs. Honey collection site: investigate and understand the area, growth and honey secretion law of main honey source plants; Understand the climate, the rainfall of the previous year and the current year, whether there are freezing damage and insect pests, and predict whether there are droughts and floods in flowering period; You also need to know the honey yield and bee colony density over the years. According to the investigation materials and comprehensive analysis, judge the degree of catching honey in that year, and then contact to determine the site. It should be noted that the bee farm should not be placed in the place where there are other bee farms between the main honey sources, otherwise the bees will often fly into the bees in other bee farms when they return. Location of powder collection: the area and growth of powder source plants, weather forecast, no continuous rainy weather to choose from. Breeding ground: It is required to have continuous staggered powder sources and rich auxiliary honey sources, convenient transportation and water and electricity. Breeding grounds in early spring should be sheltered from the wind and the sun. Summer-crossing place: The main purpose of the southern bee colony in summer is to preserve the strength of the bee colony, so we should choose a cool, ventilated place with less enemy damage. The sea breeze at the seaside in the evening is beneficial to heat dissipation, and natural enemies such as wasps are less harmful, especially in coastal areas where there are auxiliary honey sources such as sesame, sesbania and melons, which is conducive to maintaining the development of bee colonies. Mountain forest farms are conducive to shade, with sporadic honey powder sources, suitable for bee colony reproduction. However, special attention should be paid to preventing and destroying enemies such as wasps.
