Spring outing of Mrs. Guo Guo

"On the third day of March, it was a sunny day, and many beauties enjoyed the cool air by the Chang 'an River. Good at accepting, indifferent, sweet and sincere, soft and delicate skin and well-proportioned bones. " This is a poem in Du Fu's Two Ways. This paper describes the scene of the spring outing of Yang Guifei's sister, Mrs. Qin, and Mrs. Guo in the Tang Dynasty. After Yang Guifei's favor, her younger brother Yang boarded the phase. Her three sisters are also named Mrs Qin, Mrs Guo and Mrs Korea. They often go in and out of the Forbidden City. Tang called them "aunties". Du Fu's Second Way was written in the spring of 753, the twelfth year of Tianbao. It describes the smelting capacity of Mrs. Qin and Mrs. Guo in an ironic style, as well as the luxury and fiery life of them.

You Chuntu, the wife of the State of Guo in the Liaoning Provincial Museum (see above) is exactly the same as the scene described in Du Fu's Two Ways. However, Two Ways are mainly satirical poems, while You Chuntu, the wife of the State of Guo, is a realistic genre painting. Before the Tang Dynasty, ladies' paintings mostly used ladies' images to publicize educational contents, such as "a history of women" and "a picture of women's benevolence and wisdom". There were many paintings depicting women's real life in the Tang Dynasty, and some even drew directly from real court nobles. The picture of Mrs. Guo's You Chun, which we appreciate now, is created by the painter with real names as the leading role and real people.

This was rare before the Tang Dynasty. From the perspective of art history, this is undoubtedly a kind of progress and development.

You Chuntu, the wife of Guo, is silk in color, with a length of 5 1.8cm and a width of 148cm. In front of the water, there is the title of "Bo Jin Shu" written by Wan Yanjing, "Beautiful Wife of Tianshui, You Chun Tu". "Tianshui" refers to Zhao county, here refers to. Xuanhe's picture book has the title of "You Chuntu, the wife of Zhang Xuan". The picture we are enjoying now should be a replica of the Inner Hall of the Song Dynasty, which once entered the Inner Hall of the Jin Dynasty. There are all kinds of seals of "Mingchang", and the official seal and private seal in the Song Dynasty are "Hezhou government for treasury record", "Shaoxun" and "Feng" respectively. At the end of the volume, there is an inscription by Wang Duo, a painter in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties. It is recorded in Daguanlu, Gengzi, Moguan, Shiqu Essay and Shiqu Baodi Re-compilation. In other words, what we are seeing now is not Zhang Xuan's original work, but a copy of Evonne in the Northern Song Dynasty.

Look at You Chuntu, the wife of Guo, riding with nine people and eight riders, walking leisurely in spring. The first three riders, the last three riders are attendants, maids and nannies, and the middle two riders are Mrs. Qin and Mrs. Guo (some people think it is Mrs. Han and Mrs. Guo). Mrs. Qin lives in the upper right of the picture, facing Mrs. Guo, saying something. Mrs. Guo has a round face, plump figure, fair skin, dignified manner and carefree, which has the aesthetic characteristics of aristocratic women in Tang Dynasty. She doesn't wear heavy makeup, which is in line with the theme of outdoor sex. Her black hair was tied high in a ponytail, which was quite popular at that time. She wore a light green coat with narrow sleeves, a low-cut pink skirt, and a pure white silk shawl and waist, which looked very elegant. Outside the picture, the beautiful spring scenery on the edge of Qujiang River in Chang 'an is reflected from Mrs. Guo's calm and noble expression. In the painter's works, the images of the two ladies are not arrogant, but noble in temperament, just as Du Fu said, "strong in attitude and far in mind" and "delicate in texture". The picture composition is sparse and coherent, and the pen is quite handy. The first three times are arranged a little sparsely, and the last five times are arranged more closely, with natural levels, neither cramped nor messy. People and horses are not imposing, calm and natural, and maintain a sense of solemnity, which not only conforms to the theme of Youchun, but also conforms to the specific identity of the protagonist.

Although the theme of "You Chuntu, the wife of the State of Guo" is "Youchun", the painter did not show the surrounding environment too much. There are almost no flowers, vegetation, springs and microwaves on the screen, only the grass color highlighted by a simple wet pen sets off a beautiful figure. The painter focuses on depicting the thin and gorgeous costumes of the characters, giving people a feeling of flowers. The application of the expression technique of contrast between reality and reality makes the artistic conception of this painting more ethereal and fresh.

"The Lady of the State of Guo You Chun Tu" is slender, round and handsome, with a charm in its power; The color is elegant and rich, the decoration is strong, and the style is lively and lively. Usually, the meticulous brushwork in Tang Dynasty is enriched and refined by iron line drawing, which is either flowing, stagnant or simple. However, the "The Picture of the Lady of the State of Guo You Chun" we enjoy here uses soft lines, which may be due to Evonne's own aesthetic interest when copying Zhang Xuan's "The Picture of the Lady of the State of Guo You Chun". However, the tone of the picture is still the strength of the Tang Dynasty. The characters in the painting are full of cheeks and fat, which accords with the aesthetic orientation of the Tang Dynasty. However, the beauty of fullness is not the only aesthetic pursuit in the prosperous Tang Dynasty, and the weather in the prosperous Tang Dynasty is also characterized by prosperity, grace, optimism and self-confidence. Of course, it is difficult for Zhang Xuan to draw a beautiful woman as powerful as Wu Daozi's painting of ghosts and gods, but his characters are graceful, optimistic and confident. Evonne's paintings inherited the characteristics of Zhang Xuan's paintings.

The intention of "The Lady of the State of Guo You Chun Tu" is not to show the power of the ladies, but mainly to show their happy and leisurely daily life scenes, but it is not difficult for us to feel the sonorous optimism of the Tang Dynasty. If we compare it with Zhou Fang's works, we can see this. The characters in Zhou Fang's paintings are plump, luxurious and entertaining, but most of them show some loneliness. It is difficult to see such a cheerful scene as Mrs. Guo's You Chuntu in her paintings. In this sense, the value of You Chuntu, the wife of Guo, lies not only in its vivid description of real historical figures and real custom scenes, but also in its description of the overall features of a great art era from a specific angle, which embodies some spiritual characteristics of that era.

Evonne (1082- 1 135), son of Song Shenzong. During his reign, he extensively collected antiquities, calligraphy and painting, expanded the Hanlin Painting Academy, and sent civil servants to edit books such as Xuanhe Book Spectrum, Xuanhe Painting Spectrum and Xuanhe Bo Gu Map. He is good at blowing bombs, writing books, painting and writing poems, and has created his own "thin gold body" in calligraphy. I have many works in my life, most of which have been lost. The surviving paintings include Lotus Golden Rooster, Autumn Night in the Pond, Four Birds and Return of the Snow River. He is the author of Song Huizong's Ci.
