Early warning of dam break in Yulin, Shaanxi Province?

In recent days, heavy rainfall has occurred in the eastern part of northwest China, north China, central and northern Huanghuai and other places. Yesterday, there were heavy rains or torrential rains in Shaanxi, Gansu, Shanxi, Hebei, Tianjin and Shandong. Monitoring shows that there are scattered heavy rains or heavy rains in southeastern Gansu, northwestern Shaanxi, south-central Shanxi, Cangzhou, Hebei, central and eastern Shandong, northern Henan and northwestern Sichuan Basin. The local rainfall in Dingxi, Gansu, Jincheng, Shanxi, Luoyang, Henan and Mianyang, Sichuan is 140 ~ 158 mm, and the maximum hourly rainfall intensity in these areas is 60 ~ 90 mm.

Sudden rainstorm in Suide County, Yulin City, Shaanxi Province, and dam failure of a reservoir in Zizhou, the upper reaches of Dali River, caused serious danger along the Dali River. At present, the power communication in Zizhou County is interrupted, and all the water in Suide County is more than 3 meters, and all the personnel are evacuated.

From July 25th 13: 00 to August 26th, there was continuous rainfall in Suide County, with the maximum precipitation of 247.3mm, and large-scale continuous rainfall in Zizhou, Mizhi, Hengshan and other counties in the upstream, which led to the surge of river water level in Suide County. Today and tomorrow, the range of heavy rainfall in the north will continue to expand eastward and southward. It is expected that there will be a strong precipitation process in the central and eastern parts of northwest China, north China, north-central Huanghuai and other places, with moderate to heavy rain in some areas and heavy rain or heavy rain in some areas.

The Central Meteorological Observatory predicts that there will be heavy rain or rainstorm in parts of central and northern Shaanxi, central and southern Shanxi, southern Hebei, northern Henan, central and western Shandong, eastern Qinghai, eastern and southern Gansu, eastern Heilongjiang and northwestern Sichuan Basin, among which there will be heavy rain in central Shaanxi and southwestern Shanxi (100 ~140mm). Some of the above areas have short-term heavy precipitation, accompanied by strong convective weather such as thunderstorms and strong winds. The maximum hourly rainfall intensity can reach 20 ~ 50 mm, and the local rainfall exceeds 60 mm.

There will still be heavy rainfall in Shanxi, Shaanxi Province tomorrow. There are moderate to heavy rains in central Shanxi, most of Shaanxi, western Yunnan, Hainan Island, southeastern Qinghai and southern Tibet. Among them, there are heavy rains (50 ~ 60 mm) in central Shanxi and central Shaanxi. Some of the above areas have short-term heavy precipitation, accompanied by strong convective weather such as thunderstorms and strong winds.

Meteorologists suggest that this round of rainfall has a great impact on the western region, especially in northern Shaanxi and central Shanxi. The rainfall lasts for a long time and the accumulated rainfall is large. The local cumulative rainfall can exceed 200 mm, and individual stations including Taiyuan may even approach or even break the local extreme rainfall record in July. It was not until the 29th that the rainfall here gradually weakened. Under the influence of continuous heavy rainfall, mountain torrents and geological disasters are more likely to occur, so special attention should be paid to prevention.
