Can plum blossom be propagated by cutting?

Prunus mume cutting propagation can maintain the variety characteristics, and the technology is simple and easy to implement.

(1) hardwood cutting method

① Cutting time. Prunus mume hardwood cuttings are usually carried out at the end of 1 1, and the survival rate is not high too early or too late.

② Preparation for bed insertion. The bed should be inserted in a well-drained and sunny place. The width of the bed is about 1 m, and there is a bow frame (60 cm high) beside the bed, which is covered with plastic film after cutting. Cutting soil should be loose in texture and well drained.

③ operation. Take lignified annual branches from mature parent tree varieties that are easy to survive by cutting, and cut branches with the length of 10 ~ 15 cm from the middle and upper branches as cuttings. The upper end of the cuttings is straight, and the lower end is cut into a horse ear shape along the bud, or the lower end is cut again with a sharp knife to keep the incision smooth and tidy, and the phloem around the incision will not be damaged, otherwise it will affect the callus. When cutting, most branches are inserted into the soil, leaving only 1 buds on it, which is about 2 ~ 3 cm above the ground. The plant spacing is 3 ~ 5cm, and the row spacing is about15cm. When inserting, you should first make a hole with a bamboo stick to prevent the cuttings from being damaged and rotted. After insertion, gently compact the surrounding soil by hand, and finally spray it once for water permeability and cover it with plastic film. For varieties that are difficult to take root, quickly dipping cuttings with 500 mg/kg indobutyric acid aqueous solution can improve the survival rate and promote rooting.

4 management. Sprinkle water frequently to keep the soil moist after cutting, and cover the plastic film tightly at low temperature to prevent ventilation. After the temperature rises in the spring of the following year, when the temperature in the film reaches above 20℃ on a sunny day, open the film for ventilation at noon and cover it again before the sun goes down in the afternoon (to prevent the false phenomenon that the temperature in the film is too high, the ground temperature can't come up, and it germinates first and then takes root). In March-April, after the cuttings are confirmed to take root, the film is uncovered, and then the seedlings are managed.

If conditions permit, it is best to bury the hotline under the covers. The main advantages of hot-wire cutting are: by increasing the ground temperature, callus formation can be completed ahead of time (more than one month in advance), the root system can be formed early and well, and the seedling emergence is neat, avoiding the false living phenomenon of sprouting first and then rooting. At the same time, the survival rate is high, and the seedlings can be transplanted out of the nursery one year in advance. Attention should be paid to the following points when using the geothermal line: when making a seedbed, first level the bottom of the bed, spread a layer of hay with a thickness of 5 ~ 6 cm as the insulation layer, and cover it with a layer of fine sand with a thickness of 2 cm (mainly to prevent the downward conduction of heat and cause heat waste); When wiring, overlapping is not allowed, and the line spacing is 15cm. After wiring, cover the line with fine sand with a thickness of 2cm (convenient for later seedling raising), and finally cover it with loam with a thickness of 15cm as the cutting substrate. The insertion of geothermal wire bed increases the soil temperature, so the water evaporates greatly. Therefore, after the cuttings are inserted, water should be poured on the soles of the feet first, and then water should be sprayed frequently to keep moisture to prevent the soil from dehydration and drying. When the temperature rises in spring and the temperature in the greenhouse reaches above 20℃, attention should be paid to indoor ventilation.

(2) Prunus mume cutting is also feasible, and the time is April-May. China Meihua Yuxi Research Institute has done experiments in this field. The lower part of cuttings was treated with 50m g/kg ATP 1 rooting powder for half an hour, and it was concluded that the order of plum blossom survival rate from high to low was Gongfen type, weeping plum type, Yudie type, green calyx type, Longyoumei type, Huang Xiang type, Renmei type, Sprinkling gold type, Jiang Mei type, Hou Feng type, Song Chun type and cinnabar type.
