How to raise Brazilian tortoises in winter

The tortoise has gone into hibernation now, so it doesn't eat.

According to my 10 years' experience in breeding Brazilian tortoises. Four turtles in my family hibernate like this. Keep the room temperature above zero, preferably with sunshine, which can sterilize and supplement calcium. Reduce disease.

Winter management requirements of Brazilian tortoise: the time is about165438+1mid-October to the end of March. This is the hibernation period of turtles. The tortoise has completely stopped eating. Turtles do not always sleep during hibernation. Turtles are also very active. Attention should be paid to this period:

First, the nail fish tank can be moved indoors and placed in a place with 1-2 hours of sunshine, which can sterilize and supplement calcium. As long as this is done, there is generally no problem in winter. Pay attention to keeping the room temperature above zero, so you can spend the winter safely. ?

Second, you can't leave the water when hibernating, otherwise you will get sick and die of dehydration. You should put the turtle in a tank with water for the winter, not too much water, just put the water on the turtle's back, or you can put a square brick or stone in the tank. Turtles can climb up when they want to bask in the sun. Don't freeze the water with ice, or the Brazilian tortoise will freeze to death. ?

Third, when entering the hibernation period, the room temperature should not be too high, and 0- 10 degrees is the most suitable, so that turtles will be less active and reduce physical consumption. If the temperature is too high, the tortoise will keep crawling and consume a lot of physical strength, which is not good for the tortoise.

Fourth, we should always check and observe the hibernation of turtles and deal with problems in time.
