From 65438 to 0988, 32 cave experts from China and Belgium spent more than a month exploring the Tenglong Cave.

Experts believe that the Tenglong Cave System is one of the super caves in the world and the largest cave in China. At that time, the total length of Tenglong Cave was 52.8 kilometers.

In 2006, 15 cave experts from Britain, Ireland, Hungary, Australia and other countries, together with relevant experts from China University of Geology and Institute of Karst Geology of Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences, set up a joint scientific research team of Tenglong Cave and made another scientific investigation of Tenglong Cave (and the Lichuan section of Qingjiang River).

The detection results show that the total length of Tenglong Cave is 59.8 kilometers, which is 7 kilometers longer than the 52.8 kilometers measured by 1988. According to preliminary calculation, the volume of Tenglong Cave is close to 40 million cubic meters.
